[ccp4bb] Post request - EMBL

2018-09-24 Thread Carolina Cuadras
Dear CCP4bb,

The Course and Conference Office of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory
is organising a workshop called "EMBL Industry Workshop: Cryo-EM in Industry
and Academia.” The scientific organisers asked me to contact you asking for
your help to post this event. You can find the details below.

Title: EMBL Industry Workshop: Cryo-EM in Industry and Academia

Location & Dates: EMBL Heidelberg, Germany | 6 - 8 Feb 2019

Website: https://www.embl.de/training/events/2019/CPP19-01/

Conference Overview:
Recent technical developments in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and
cryo-tomography now allow structures of challenging targets relevant for the
pharmaceutical industry (membrane proteins, multi-subunit complexes, chromatin
complexes etc.) to be determined at unprecedented resolution. This workshop is
aimed at members of the pharmaceutical and allied industrial sectors that use
(or are considering using) cryo-EM in drug discovery and agricultural research,
academic researchers interested in the impact of state-of-the-art cryo-EM in
drug discovery, and cryo-EM support staff that want to learn more about the
specific needs of industry.
Structural biologists from leading pharmaceutical companies and academia have
joined forces to co-organise a science-driven meeting to exchange trends,
ideas, use-cases, opportunities and challenges related to the use of cryo-EM in
industry and academia.

Thank you in advance for your support. If you have any questions, do not
hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,
Carolina

Re: [ccp4bb] Building libccp4 static.

2018-09-24 Thread Ian Tickle
Hi Tim

No that doesn't work because then it's looking for /home/ian
/CCP4-7.0/ccp4-7.0-src/ccp4-7.0-src/lib/pkgconfig/*.pc but that directory
path doesn't exist.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Cheers

[ccp4bb] Postdoc position available at Florida State University

2018-09-24 Thread adarsh kumar
Dear all

One postdoctoral position is available immediately in an enzymology
laboratory to elucidate mechanisms of DNA/RNA synthesis, DNA lesion bypass,
and base excision repair catalyzed by various human and viral DNA/RNA
polymerases, and to mechanistically investigate gene editing enzymes
including CRISPR/Cas9 and Cas13a. Background in structural biology (X-ray
crystallography and/or CryoEM), biophysics, protein purification, and
recombinant DNA techniques is preferred. An important criterion for
selection will be the ability of the desired individual to pursue
independent research in an active multi-disciplinary setting. Interested
candidates should send a CV and a statement describing experience, goals,
and reasons for the interest in this position, and arrange to have three
letters of recommendation sent to: Dr. Zucai Suo, Eminent Professor and
Dorian and John Blackmon Chair of Biomedical Science, Department of
Biomedical Sciences, College of Medicine, Florida State University,
Tallahassee, FL. Dr. Suo can be contacted by email (zucai@med.fsu.edu).
Further information about the research projects in the Suo Lab can be

Re: [ccp4bb] Building libccp4 static.

2018-09-24 Thread Tim Gruene
Dear Ian,

is it possible that the element list in the for loop,
'ccp4-7.0/lib/pkgconfig/*.pc' is empty?
The error message contains ccp4-7.0-src as directory name, i.e. maybe it
helps to write

 for p in ccp4-7.0-src/lib/pkgconfig/*.pc

Best wishes,
Tim

[ccp4bb] Building libccp4 static.

2018-09-24 Thread Ian Tickle
All, I'm trying to build libccp4 statically (after all updates applied) on
Ubuntu 18.04.1 and I get this error:

2: /home/ian/CCP4-7.0/ccp4-7.0-src/chec: not
foundls/triggers/pkgconf-pathfix-nt.trigger: Fixing .pc Files (correct path
structure)
/home/ian/CCP4-7.0/ccp4-7.0-src/checkout/devtools/triggers/pkgconf-pathfix-nt.trigger:
5: /home/ian/CCP4-7.0/ccp4-7.0-src/chec: not
foundls/triggers/pkgconf-pathfix-nt.trigger:
/home/ian/CCP4-7.0/ccp4-7.0-src/checkout/devtools/triggers/pkgconf-pathfix-nt.trigger:
7:
/home/ian/CCP4-7.0/ccp4-7.0-src/checkout/devtools/triggers/pkgconf-pathfix-nt.trigger:
Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting "do")
E: /bin/sh
/home/ian/CCP4-7.0/ccp4-7.0-src/checkout/devtools/triggers/pkgconf-pathfix-nt.trigger
returned with an error code (2)
*** success *** [3/3]

The file
/home/ian/CCP4-7.0/ccp4-7.0-src/checkout/devtools/triggers/pkgconf-pathfix-nt.trigger
contains:

# REMatch: \/ccp4-7\.0\/lib\/pkgconfig\/.*\.pc

VERBOSE=1
echo 'Fixing .pc Files (correct path structure)'

for p in ccp4-7.0/lib/pkgconfig/*.pc
do
 echo 'Checking '$p' for errors'
 sed -i 's/=\/msys64/=\/c\/msys64/g' $p
 sed -i 's/="\/msys64/="\/c\/msys64/g' $p
 sed -i 's/-L\/msys64/-L\/c\/msys64/g' $p
 sed -i 's/-I\/msys64/-I\/c\/msys64/g' $p
done

Presumably there's a syntax error there somewhere. I can't see it but then
I'm not a Bourne shell expert.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
