The Valiyaveetil group investigatesstructure and function of ion channels and transporters using a combination of structuralbiology, spectroscopy, protein engineering and electrophysiology. The group is a part of the Program in Chemical Biology in the Departmentof Chemical Physiology and Biochemistry. The candidate willinvestigate voltage gated potassium channels using structural and functional approaches. Expertise in membrane protein biochemistry orin structural studies using crystallography or cryoEM is desired.
