Re: What is this System 360 peripheral/maintenance console?
Here's my contribution to this topic: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1iidmMNXV3arCqlMmJdzWNFwgtrjDjpt6 Our national broadcasting company visited my unofficial museum and filmed my computer collection for the documentary "Lada, Laika, Marx ja mä". You can see there the 1800 running a simple program. More photos of the 1800 is in my blog. - Johannes Thelen Finland Before microcomputers blog (Finnish) http://ennenmikrotietokoneita.blogspot.fi/ From: cctalk on behalf of Steve Malikoff via cctalk Sent: Tuesday, March 3, 2020 12:40 PM To: General Discussion: On-Topic and Off-Topic Posts Subject: Re: What is this System 360 peripheral/maintenance console? > On Mon, Mar 2, 2020 at 10:51 AM Chuck Guzis via cctalk < >> Will's right - the 16-bit register display should have been a tipoff. >> >> See http://www.dvq.com/1800/1800.htm for lots of images. >> 1800->industrial control version of the 1130. >> >> --Chuck >> > Thank you, I will update how I have it documented on the web site. Info needed: CMI 1600, CDC Omega/480, IPL Systems, Olivetti 5300
Anyone familiar with these PCMs? I got a CMI 1640 and little help needed. Here's photos: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1w74AYe6lRSn9gJhyKVlBYAq5zRDWybSw?usp=sharing What this 370 clone is exactly? If I have understood right, Steven Ippolito's IPL Systems Inc developed the original machine and CMI (Cambridge Memories Inc) made them. Also these sold as Omega/480 and Olivetti 5300 series. Later CMI made their own versions and I believe this one of those. But I haven't found model 1640. So is this 1641..? What is difference between CMI and others? Microcode? I got belong with the machine a couple manuals, Maintenance and Theory of Operation. Unfortunately original microcode disk is missing (and 8" drive...), so that would be needed if I ever want to fire this thing up. Any ideas where I could find a one? All ideas & info are welcome! - Johannes Thelen johannesthe...@gmail.com Finland Before microcomputers blog (Finnish) http://ennenmikrotietokoneita.blogspot.fi/
Re: Run/Stop switch from a Soviet S/370 clone
I have whole ES EVM panel, it is decorating my warehouse. Here's photo of it, maybe this helps to identify the switch: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/114704705421528969208/albums/6114938694824762945/6374409873912794402?pid=6374409873912794402=114704705421528969208 This panel came to Finland as souviner after CCCP collapsed. I have heard we had here in Finland at least one ES EVM for military use, but no idea what happened that one. - Johannes Thelen Finland Before microcomputers blog (Finnish) http://ennenmikrotietokoneita.blogspot.fi/ From: cctalk <cctalk-boun...@classiccmp.org> on behalf of Liam Proven via cctalk <cctalk@classiccmp.org> Sent: Thursday, May 25, 2017 2:03:10 AM To: Discussion: On-Topic and Off-Topic Posts Subject: Re: Run/Stop switch from a Soviet S/370 clone On 24 May 2017 at 21:45, Pontus Pihlgren <pon...@update.uu.se> wrote: > Cool, how might it have ended up in the UK (I assume it is there) Er, no. Re: What is the most prized possession in your collection?
Hard to say which one is most lovely, maybe I just list three most important for me. First is my full IBM 1800 system including 2311 drives, 1627 plotter, etc... http://ennenmikrotietokoneita.blogspot.fi/2015/08/1800-kesakuvia.html I got CPU to run a year ago, other parts are under progress. Big and noisy beast, gotta love it. Second would be weird decimal based thing, IBM 1620 Model I: http://ennenmikrotietokoneita.blogspot.fi/2016/06/ibm-1620-model-i-uusi-lelu-kokoelmaan.html Pretty hard to get back to life, memory is corroded and Model B typewriter is missing. Maybe some day... Third, Honeywell H316. Exactly I have two of these, both running. The first one is mint conditioned tabletop version, another is rack version with HSA option. https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/114704705421528969208/albums/6114938694824762945/6295389986969789474?pid=6295389986969789474=114704705421528969208 https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/114704705421528969208/albums/6114938694824762945/6143407067711382802?pid=6143407067711382802=114704705421528969208 [https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-raRVSw-lBQE/VUHELc2PpRI/IH4/yHfCdiYuX3A5XNdixerzG3YVDry_CRMRwCL0B/s0-d/20150426_165121.jpg]<https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/114704705421528969208/albums/6114938694824762945/6143407067711382802?pid=6143407067711382802=114704705421528969208> Ennen mikrotietokoneita<https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/114704705421528969208/albums/6114938694824762945/6143407067711382802?pid=6143407067711382802=114704705421528969208> plus.google.com <https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/114704705421528969208/albums/6114938694824762945/6295389986969789474?pid=6295389986969789474=114704705421528969208> [https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-C5UxKPgn36k/V1231rfipCI/Nsc/_XH6wP_oSD8xJYshrQLA0b0OVHRSgqdYQCL0B/s0-d/DSC_1688.JPG]<https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/114704705421528969208/albums/6114938694824762945/6295389986969789474?pid=6295389986969789474=114704705421528969208> Ennen mikrotietokoneita<https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/114704705421528969208/albums/6114938694824762945/6295389986969789474?pid=6295389986969789474=114704705421528969208> plus.google.com [https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dtv6gHUFCkc/V0s0O79SoXI/MIY/4MyU2fJk-x06iZ-zWW0IKZxK2zM-yNJcACLcB/w1200-h630-p-k-nu/DSC_1399.jpg]<http://ennenmikrotietokoneita.blogspot.fi/2016/06/ibm-1620-model-i-uusi-lelu-kokoelmaan.html> IBM 1620 Model I - Uusi lelu kokoelmaan<http://ennenmikrotietokoneita.blogspot.fi/2016/06/ibm-1620-model-i-uusi-lelu-kokoelmaan.html> ennenmikrotietokoneita.blogspot.fi Vanhoja mini- ja keskustietokoneita käsittelevä blogi teolliisuusautomaation historialla höystettynä. Searching an IBM Model B typewriter for IBM 1620
I got just another jewel to my collection, IBM 1620 Model I (G level). Machine has all internals intact, but table top and the typewriter are missing (probably doorway was too narrow back then, parts removed and forgotten somewhere on the journey... ) That table top can be made again, but I would need that right model typewriter. Anyone have a spare..? Also I have another problem with it, memory is suffering wire corrosion (like these all does). So this can be a long shot, but if someone have a functional memory or just core array, I'm interested to buy or swap it to something. Photos can be found my blog, link below.
