[CentOS] Samba active domain controller guide for Centos 7

Is there a good guide for setting up a Samba active domain controller?

I am currently running ClearOS, but it does more than what I want, even 
that I had to modify to suit my needs.  Only a few systems. Currently 
still XP, but I will migrate to Win7 with this move.


Of course I will be doing the install on a Cubietruck armv7.

Silly thought: if you *have* that package installed, and want to upgrade
it... what repo does rpm -qi internet-browser tell you it's from.

I don't suppose there's any chance that it could be the konqueror browswer?

Yesterday, when I was having so much trouble with the latest FF 52, I 
uninstalled internet-browser thing which also uninstalled FF 52. OK, all 
good. I cleared my yum cache, then re-installed FF 45. This item came 
back through gpk-application. Rather confused at this point.


I'm on CentOS 6.9, 32 bit.

[CentOS] OT: Firefox lockdown policies for CentOS7 desktops

Hi all,

 I am doing some tests with my CentOS7 desktop. I have configured a policy to 
lockdown Chrome/Chromium browsers and it works perfectly. And I am trying to 
the same for Firefox browsers but Firefox's docs are really "hard" to 
understand.

 I have the following stopper points:

 a/ what is the "real" system wide's config file: firefox.js, sysprefs.js or 
local-settings.js/mozilla.cfg ?
 b/ And what is the real directory: "/etc/firefox", 
"/usr/lib/firefox/defaults/pref" or which??
 c/ Is it possible to download and install addons using system wide's policy? 
For example with Chrome/Chromium you can use "ExtensionInstallForcelist" option.
 d/ Where can I found all the options :)?

CentOS 5 is no longer supported, so it isn't distributed to the mirros
anymore.  Also, 5.4 was released in 2009, and even when CentOS5 *WAS*
supported, you should have installed 5.11, the latest release.

If you say that you've got someone telling you MUST use CentOS 5.4,
then I suggest finding another product to support. 

There's a hint as to what you would need to do, if you still want to
run an insecure and unsupportable product:

  You can get the last released version of centos 5.11 here:

We need CentOS 5 for a software, and installed CentOS 5.4. But when we try
to install Developments Tools like gcc it gives error that repositories are
not found.
Can you please help us in install gcc on CentOS 5.4?

in addition to Zdenek's suggestions, I'd consider running it with the 
graphics disabled, on centos 6 set /etc/inittab to start at runlevel 3, 
then reboot.   not sure how you do it on c 7.


while its running without graphics, exercise it via ssh connections, 
running as much stuff as you can.   download a linux kernel and compile 
it with `make clean && make -j 8` over and over, that sort of thing.

CentOS 6: less /var/log/messages

CentOS 7: journalctl -xe

It looks like a HW error, maybe CPU or RAM, so I would recommend running
memtest and some CPU bench tool as well.
