Re: [CentOS] Anyone using Active Driectory auth with Centos 5.4.....?
I had written a blog quite some time back on this. There might be some glitches in it, but will give you some clue. The blog is blog.Palalinha.Com i am sitting at the airport with my mobile so cant find you the correct thread in the blog. Let me know if it helps. On 2/8/10, Tom Bishop bisho...@gmail.com wrote: Setting up a new backuppc for a small group of device and I am running centos 5.4 with winbind setup and working. Everything is working and I would like the users to authenicate using their AD creds and was wondering what folks are using to do that with apache 2.2 and centos 5.4. I know about mod_auth_pam but that seems pretty dead so I was just wondering what folks were using and whats the easiest to setup. Any pointers to any how to's would be appreciated...Thanks. ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos
Re: [CentOS] auto mounting group shares
The pam mount module might help you. Check its man pages. On 2/8/10, Carlos Santana neu...@gmail.com wrote: I am using autofs to mount user's home and group directories. The setup works fine for home directories which are mounted after user logs in. The group shares are also mounted, but user has to manually do cd or ls command on group shares, e.g.: ls /groups/chemistry will mount chemistry group share. Is there any way to mount group shares automatically? I noticed that after successful login 'some program' performs chdir (cd) which probably tells autofs to mount home dirs. Which program does this operation? Is there any way to do this for group shares also? - CS. ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos
[CentOS] Generating X.509 Certificates in Centos with open ssl
hi all can someone please guide me to a good howto to Generating X.509 Certificates in centos 5.4 with open ssl? i am using a windows based desktop virtualization software called vWorkspace which requires (copy/paste from vWorkspace documentation) • One or more X.509 web server certificates (depending upon configuration) • Trusted root certificate from the issuing CA installed into the Windows machine store of the SSL Gateway for certificates that have been installed on Web Access or Connection Broker servers. •Your certificate should have the same Issued To and Friendly Name. •The certificate should be an RSA (1024) certificate, not an AES certificate. •You should have a private key that corresponds to the certificate. i need the certificate for testing purposes only, so i m using openssl to generate a self signed certificate. i m not good enough with the concepts either. hence need sme help thanks in advance Arvind ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos

Re: [CentOS] Username and Password
is it a normal user whose passwd u forgot? if yes, login as root user and type passwd username and change the passwd if you dont have root user a/c access. restart the PC and at grub prompt select the *second* option and type *'e*' append it with the word *single* hit *enter *and bit *b* the machine will login with single user mode. here you can change the passwd of the root user. passwd Cheers, Arvind On Mon, Jan 25, 2010 at 1:31 PM, Michael Makotore makoto...@wattle.co.zwwrote: Could you please help me I forgot my username and password.
