[CentOS] Problem: udevb[478]: add_to_rules: unknown key 'ATTRS{idProduct}'

2010-01-30 Thread Majian
Hi, all :

Today my laptop shows the following messages during booting:

udevb[478]: add_to_rules: unknown key 'ATTRS{idProduct}'
udevb[478]: add_to_rules: unknown key 'ATTRS{idVendor}'
.
.

These many lines are repeated over and over filling the whole screen.
But after a few seconds booting continues as usual and the system works
fine.

But what is it with this messages, what does it mean and how do i get rid
of it?

Thanks for your advice ~
But After I edit the command "alias checketh0 "echo `ifconfig eth0 | grep
'inet addr:' |awk '{print $2}' | cut -c 6-`" in my .cshrc file
The screen displays this :
innet addr:192.168.7.24 Bcast:192.168.7.255 Mask :255.255.255.0

I just want to the "192.168.7.24"

Maybe is it the awk command error?

[CentOS] About the tar extract signal directory~~

2009-11-11 Thread Majian
Hi,all:

I've couple of large tarballs such as www.tar and images.tar.
Is it possible to extract a single file or a list of files from a large
tarball such as images.tar instead of extracting the entire tarball?
How do I extract specific files under Linux / UNIX operating systems?

If you get the newer kernel , you should reboot the computer ,then the OS

Re: [CentOS] CentOS 5.4? anyone? - "debate"

2009-10-16 Thread Majian
First I'd like to make sure I am not complaining about this delay between
the RHEL and CentOS releases per se. I did not help in any way to make it
happen faster and usually I don't mind having a three weeks gap between
them.

But I've noticed that we had two security related kernel updates
from RHEL since the RHEL 5.3 release and there is no word on when it will be
released or why is it taking so long.

So hope it would release soon ~~~

Re: [CentOS] Dualboot CentOS and Windows

2009-10-09 Thread Majian
Yeah! I agree you !

If you install CentOS in Windows , you firstly backup the important data to
some place in case of the machine is crashed; Then you can start to install
CentOS by the useful tool which called grub-for-docs.

That tool is to build to grub for CentOS and Windows .You can search it by
Googling.

Gook Luck! And hope this can help you!
