Ah, yep, we do CentOS 7 builds. http://ceph.com/rpm-firefly/el7/ These builds happen in Jenkins. Unfortunately there's a disconnect between Jenkins and Gitbuilder. It's something I hope to remedy one day. - Ken ___ ceph-users mailing list ceph-users@lists.ceph.com http://lists.ceph.com/listinfo.cgi/ceph-users-ceph.com

My understanding would be that the general perspective is that CentOS7 is a close enough EL clone to RHEL7 that most if not all of the validation against RHEL should be considered valid for Cent, but for some the lack of the specific listing of that specific platform is causing a lot of trepidation. ___ ceph-users mailing list ceph-users@lists.ceph.com http://lists.ceph.com/listinfo.cgi/ceph-users-ceph.com

I didn't set up that page and I don't do builds, I'm just looking at it and http://ceph.com/gitbuilder.cgi. :) In any case, to the best of my knowledge we don't do regular builds on centos7 either (that's the "B" indicator), although we do on rhel7. -Greg ___ ceph-users mailing list ceph-users@lists.ceph.com http://lists.ceph.com/listinfo.cgi/ceph-users-ceph.com

Re: [ceph-users] Official CentOS7 support
We aren't currently doing any of the ongoing testing which that page covers on CentOS 7. I think that's because it's going to flow through the same Red Hat mechanisms as the RHEL7 builds, but I'm not on that team so I can't say for sure. -Greg On Tue, Dec 2, 2014 at 9:39 AM Frank Even wrote: > Hello all. You bring up a good point. If I were to make a wild guess, CentOS 7 was simply not available at the time that document was last updated. [ceph-users] Official CentOS7 support
Hello all. Hopefully this is not a stupid question at this point, but I was hoping I could get some clarity on CentOS7 support. I'm well aware that it works but I wonder why it is not explicitly listed on the supported OS's site: http://ceph.com/docs/master/start/os-recommendations/ It's absence is currently causing great amounts of consternation in a discussion about using and deploying Ceph in an environment I deal with and I'm curious if there are any particular reasons it's absent from the list.
