Misty, Try using the Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle (seriously!). For one thing, there is a bug in the way the Oracle native client handles CLOBs (if you're using them), that the MS driver does not have.
In particular, we've had to tell people with Spectra sites to not use the native drivers, since Spectra uses CLOBs extensively.
