Re: Help With Regular Expressions

2009-05-13 Thread Robert Nurse

I ended up using Replace to change
../geos/displayCountryData.cfm?countryCode=AS to ../geos/AS.  Then I used
REMatch(../geos/[A-Z]{2},...) to find all occurrences of this resulting
pattern. I then processed each match in the array REMatch returned with
Replace(DBText, REMatchArrayEntry, REMatchArrayEntry .html, ALL). Each
REMatchArrayEntry has the pattern ../geos/[A-Z]{2}. I'm sure there is a
simpler way to handle this. But, this works.

Can you provide one more of the actual links? I'm going to assume that the
folderName string is not actually 'folderName'. If that's the case then it
would affect the regular expression and what it would need to look for. Will
the two character string always be at the end of the link?

If everything else is the same, and you just need the last two characters of
a link:

cfset string = '../folderName/someCFMFile.cfm?code=AB'
cfset match = REMatchNoCase('[A-Z]{2}$',string)
cfdump var=#match#
cfabort

That's not what Adobe's website says. It says that, for 6.1, you
should see the file in the class path, not that the version number
will change.

Re: Include one form within another

2009-05-13 Thread fun and learning

Thanks for the solution Dave...

  In the form I am creating, sometimes the user would be presented
 with a link to enroll themselves
  (This would happen before the actual form submission). So, when they
 click that which takes them
  to another form, those form fields should get prepoulated with the
 form fields that I need to pass from
  current form. As I said I was using URL, but due to security
 concerns, I have to use form variables to
  post data.

 If you can use JavaScript, you can have your link trigger a
 JavaScript
 function that changes the action of the form, then submits the form:

 a href=javascript:enroll()Enroll/a

...

 script language=JavaScript
 function enroll()
 {

 document.forms[0].action = enroll.cfm;

 document.forms[0].submit();
 }
 /script

 Alternatively, you could have the link set a form field value, then
 use CF in your action page to check for the existence of the form
 field value, and show the user the appropriate results in either case.

 You could just have a checkbox for this.

OT (maybe): Display additional info from a Select before Form is Submitted

For a select box (simplified):

select name=catID id=select

   /cfloop
/select

I need to display additional info for each selection when the selection
is made - before the form is submitted.
So if you've got
  Record 1
  Record 2
  Record 3
...and somebody selects Record 2 - I need the contents of an
additional field (cat_comments) to immediately display under the
select before the form is submitted...

Still scratching my head. Can somebody point me in the correct direction
to pull this off?

Are you on CF 8? If so one way to do it is use CFdiv and have it call a
template or bind to a CFC to display the comments.

select name=catID id=select id=catID
  cfloop query=getCATS
  option value=#getCATS.catID##getCATS.catNAME#/option

   /cfloop
 /select

cfdiv id=apDiv2   bind=cfc:cfcdir.getComments({catID})/cfdiv
OR
cfdiv id=apDiv2  bind=url:getComments.cfm?catID={catID}/cfdiv

If there aren't many categories, load all the extra info into the page in
the place you need it to appear and hide it by default. Then on change of
the drop down, show the relevant info.

With jQuery:

script type=text/javascript src=/scripts/jquery-1.3.1.min.js/script
script type=text/javascript
$(function() {

$(#cats).change(function() {
$(.catInfo).hide();
$(#catInfo + jQuery(this).val()).show();
});

});
/script
style type=text/css
.catInfo {
display: none;
}
/style

select id=cats
option value=1One/option
option value=2Two/option
option value=3Three/option
/select

div id=catInfo1 class=catInfo
Cat into 1
/div

div id=catInfo2 class=catInfo
Cat into 2
/div

div id=catInfo3 class=catInfo
Cat into 3
/div

RE: New Server CF error

2009-05-13 Thread brad

Googling that error produces a handful of forums.
Here are three of them:

http://www.talkingtree.com/blog/index.cfm?mode=entryentry=B11F99A1-45A6-2844-7E6E11C8B765E19B

http://www.webmasterkb.com/Uwe/Forum.aspx/coldfusion-server/3694/CF-8-Admin-Error

If you are getting this error in the CFIDE folder, you are probably not
hitting the template size bug the first link refers to.

I would try deleting the files in /WEB-INF/cfclasses/ and restart
If that doesn't fix it try replacing the CFIDE directory from a backup
or another server running the same version of CF.
The .cfm files in that directory are encrypted, so you may have problems
trying to FTP them if your FTP client is using ASCII instead of binary
mode.

Multi-part server push file download with CFML

2009-05-13 Thread Ian Skinner

I got curious about this functionality from a question I saw on another
forum.

How could one download multiple files within one response to a single
request. At first I thought that this was not possible since I have
never experienced it. But a quick Google search returned this blog post
that shows some Java|JSP code that apparently allows for this functionality.

http://www.coderanch.com/t/365930/Servlets/java/Downloading-Multiple-Files

Other then the obvious option of just somehow installing this Java code
and calling it up within CFML. Can any of you provide some insight on
how this code might possible be transposed to straight CFML?

TIA
Ian

Re: cross side scripting hotfix for CFMX 6.1 not working

2009-05-13 Thread Vineet Mangal

Hi Dave,
 Sorry mate but it says that for the server configuration however we
are using the J2EE configuration with jrun.

Point 5 under 'ColdFusion MX 6.1 - J2EE Configuration with JRun' in the above
link says:

'Examine the ColdFusion MX Administrator System Information page and confirm
that hf64586_611.jar shows up in the Version section like 6,1,0 hf64586_611.
Note: You will not see this jar in the Java Class Path because the hot fix jar
is being loaded in the Coldfusion Class Path.'

Either way I guess it is not listed in the class path. We are on JVM Java
version 1.4.2.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. Thanks

Regards,
Vineet

Loading options when using bind?

2009-05-13 Thread Scott Weikert

Hey gang -

Been tinkering with the bind options on the cfselect etc. bits today.
Works great. A lot less code/hassle than doing it using Prototype/etc.,
which is what I've been doing the past couple of years.

But - the one thing I'm not finding any good info on, is how to present
the user with some sort of loading display.

With my current code, I've got a div set up with my loading content, and
in the JS functions, I pop that div's visibility on/off as the data
request starts/finishes.

Is there any way to replicate this sort of thing using the bind
functionality?

I would check the new machine has the same amount of resources available to it
as the old one in your VMWare settings, make sure you've changed the host name
of the new machine, and make sure that the file permissions on any and all
files CF needs access to are read-write. I'd say it's more than likely a
windows problem.
