Re: Debug output displaying behind page
Total shot in the dark... but back in the days of old br clear=all / at the bottom of your footer or after the closing /html tag used to fix wonky formatting issues with debugging info. Seeing that clear=all is depreciated, the modern version of this would be br style=clear:both; / HTH G! Tracking Link Click
Hello all, I have a site where once a user registers they are taken to a page with three links to a movie to download (normal, hearing impaired and vision impaired). hat I want to do is track which movie is downloaded. The problem is that the movies are stored off site on another server (yousendit.com). So I guess this is an outbound link? How would i go about doing this? Do I do a separate CFM page that tracks the URL then does a quick redirect to the actual download? Convert JS variable to URL variable for AJAX function
I know this isn't technically a CF question (even though I'm using CF), but I need some help putting a JS variable into a URL string to perform an Ajax hit. url rewriting
I'm very gingerly stepping into the world of url rewritng.. currently the site that I'm working on has urls that look like this: http://www.domain.com/content.cfm/who-we-are who-we-are is generated out of the CMS system (home grown) and doesn't actually exist. what the bosses want is http://www.domain.com/who-we-are . I'd like to do this with an ISAPI rewrite using IIS 7 The rub is this: content.cfm contains all the queries and such to figure out the content associated with who-we-are. can I do the re-write and still have content.cfm run? Secondly, I really suck at regEx, is there a good primer on creating rewrite scripts? -- Scott Stewart Adobe Certified Expert / Instructor ColdFusion 8, 9 ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:353801 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm

Ajax inserts / updates and CF
Hi Folks, We're getting ready to implement some ajax code in our application to enable queries (esp inserts and updates) to run without having to do a full page refresh (the main goal being to just improve page load performance). There's obviously a lot of info out there on this topic and I'm interested in getting a little feedback about what might be best or most appropriate. For instance, are there any recommended examples / tutorials for doing this with CF? Would this sort of thing likely use jquery or just straight custom javascript? Many thanks in advance. Re: Debug output displaying behind page
your page content must be using CSS that positions it over the debug out. use the docked debug output instead to get round that. or you are free to customise or create your own debugging page instead to get around those problems. Alll these settings are in your cfadmin. you just need an intermediate link that records the clik and redirects the user to the destination. e.g. www.yoursite.com?linktracker.cfmlinkid=1 On Mon, Jan 7, 2013 at 5:42 PM, Bruce Sorge sor...@gmail.com wrote: Hello all, I have a site where once a user registers they are taken to a page with three links to a movie to download (normal, hearing impaired and vision impaired). hat I want to do is track which movie is downloaded. Yeah, I got it figured out. Just sent it to another page that captured the URL variables, pulled out what I needed to insert into the db then did a redirect to the download. Russ, were you advising Nick to not use the stuff built into CF? If so, I agree. jQuery is the way to go. I tried working with CF's functionality, jQuery was much easier for me to learn. I would advise being a bit more careful about this. I agree - don't use the stuff built in CF directly - but I think we are all talking about the CF UI stuff. I consider the CFC/returnFormat=json as part of CF's Ajax support and I'd definitely recommend using it.
