RE: other companies and developers to watch out for

2011-02-04 Thread Blake Helppie

This is better than a Mexican soap opera...

Something that apparently few people on this forum know is that it is
practically impossible in the United States to successfully pursue legal
action for Libel. I haven't even read what Michael purportedly wrote,
which is being considered libel, but I would advise that any legal
fees spent on pursuing a case of libel are wasted funds.

On another note, I just confirmed today that our company is now looking
to recruit a mid to senior level CF developer to work on our CF9 dev
team. Importantly, this person would need to relocate to or be in Troy,
Michigan...where you can live like Carlos Slim (going on the Mexican
soap opera theme) on the salary of a Carl Smith.

Today, I was given the response, that the parties still plan to pursue
legal action and to ensure that I am paying for the rest of my life
regardless of how many apologies I try to make things right. I have
since sent two letters begging for mercy.

I guess now there really is no other option but to totally remove myself
from this earth. Peace.

RE: Moving to DC

2010-11-04 Thread Blake Helppie

DC is the ONE housing marking in the US that was not materially impacted
by the housing downturn. Houses in Georgetown, the swank Northwestern
part of the District near Georgetown University, have actually increased
in value somewhat. You will probably find the most affordable, good
housing in one of the Virginia or Maryland suburbs of DC, of which there
are many.

I am a Senior ColdFusion Developer that is moving out to the Washington,
DC. Obviously housing is a premium in the DC area. I would like to buy
or rent a house in one of the suburbs, so that we can have a fenced in
yard for my dogs. What suburbs are the safest and most affordable in DC
that have single family homes (not townhomes/apartments)? Which area is
lower in taxes? Commuting by train/light rail would be ideal. Also, what
is a typical salary range for Senior CF Developers in the DC area?
Thanks!
