Subject: accordion css control?

Does anyone have any good examples of an accordion css control? I basically
need to have 3 sections be completely collapsed on page load, then "open"
when clicked on, and have linked content underneath that pushes any content
under the control downward.

I can explain more/better if I need to.

Also, I know I could probably build this on my own, but I just don't have
that kind of time to work out the kinks, so one that is just a plug and play
would be awesome. I don't mind paying if need be.

Thanks,

Ray

No conflicts will occur. It runs on ASP.NET and has nothing to do with
ColdFusion. Run far and run fast if they ask you to make modifications to it.

If you are using CFQUERYPARAM exclusively, you don't have to worry about
these. However, this is where "defense-in-depth": applies - you should have
several things in place to prevent this from working. If you're using SQL
Server (which is the only database that this particular SQL injection attack
targets), you should ensure that it is properly hardened - for example,
ensure you're using a non-privileged login from CF, ensure that it can't run
xp_cmdshell and other security-sensitive commands (you may drop those
entirely, if you're not using them at all), implement egress filtering on
your database server (so it can't make outbound TFTP connections, for
example), place appropriate ACLs on sensitive OS system files (like
tftp.exe), and so on.

Subject: FCKeditor and image paths

I've been developing a CMS over the past year or so. It started out
for one client, then I had requests from a number of other people for
pretty much the same thing, so I've just been copying the code for
each additional site that I build. As you might imagine, it gets to
be quite a drag making the same change on multiple sites.

So, I'm retooling the app so that I have two "parts" to it -- the
core, application-specific code, and then another path that has
client-specific files. I've got the split done with one exception --
the location where FCKeditor stores images that are uploaded through
the editor.

So, here's what I have (more or less) as far as directory structure goes:

\core - this is set as web site root and contains application.cfc,
generic display templates, and other common files, including FCKeditor
\core\fckeditor\editor\etc

And for the site-specific files, I use a directory outside of the
"core" path for things like site-specific custom tags (for look and
feel, mostly), site-specific config files, and site-specific images,
i.e.:

\site\images\
\site\lib\global.css
\site\images\customtags

I then map the \site directory as a virtual directory so that it can
be accessed properly, i.e. images are properly shown at
http://whatever.com/site/images/foo.gif

So, obviously, I want FCKeditor to upload images to \site\images\, so
to do this, I set the following in my application.cfc:

if (NOT isDefined("application.userFilesPath")) {
application.userFilesPath = "/site/images/";
}

The problem is, uploaded images now go to \core\site\images\, i.e.
they are placed in the common part of the applicaiton, not the site
specific part.

Reading the forums on SourceForge, this is a problem that is common
across CF, ASP, PHP, and I'm sure more. Patches have been developed
by end users for some languages, but I have yet to find one for CF.
Has anyone else who has encountered this issue found a fix for it?

I appreciate any help, this is literally the last issue that I need to
iron out before I roll out the new framework.

Thanks,

Pete

I'm having a problem with cfLOCATION and I'm not sure if it's a bug or
I'm not understanding it correctly.

I have:

 top.will_load++;
 parent.frames[0].location
   = "ButtonPanel.cfm"
   + "?mode=debug";

(Yes, the cfIF is firing). When I run it, the script just does not
take effect. I tried replacing it with a large amount of text,
and that is not displayed either.

If I replace the cfLOCATION with Javascript - location = "CatReviewFile...
it works just fine.

I get the impression there is some optimization that says "cfLOCATION,
okay we are going to be overwritten anyway, so we can ignore everything."
Obviously it can't.

Any guess??

RE: Another Credit Card processing issue.

2005-10-18 Thread Robert Redpath
That would work as well. The reservation would create 2 Authorization
transactions: a cancellation fee and a trip fee.

So the permutations are:

1.
client doesn't show - therefore Delay Capture the cancellation fee,
void the trip Authorization
2.
client shows & pays credit card - therefore Delay Capture the trip fee,
void the cancellation Authorization
3.
client shows & pays cash/other - therefore void the cancellation & trip
fee and take the cash

This should work with any card processor. AFAIK

That might work, but the client want the person to be able to pay them the
remainder by any means once they arrive

So technically the process would be to reserve the spot, charge minimal
amount and reserve the spot. They then could pay the remainder in cash,
check, that credit card, different credit card at time of arrival. If they
no show, my client would be able to go into
authorize.net<http://authorize.net>and charge the remainder to their
card. IS that possible through something
like authorize.net <http://authorize.net>??

I have a client that that is in the tourism biz. The have trips that they
fill that have a limited number of seats for. The problem is that they have
people reserving seats and not showing up at the last minute. They now want
to reserve seats using a credit card number and a sepcialized reservation
system (that I will be developing). That way they can use that credit card
number to charge the customer (who is AWARE that cancelling past a certain
time will result in a charge) for the reservation.

Now here are my questions.

How do I/IS it possible to safely get and save this information via a
private SSL on a shared hosting server. My sql is my only DB option,
although if I push it I probably could get (read: fund by client) SQL Server
2000?
What do I do with it safely, since they do not actually want to charge at
the time of reserevation, but want to keep it incase of no show?
They want to use their current processor to run the credit card number
through (Some card companies frown on this) upon no shows. they really don't
want to have the added expense of another processor.

Anyone ever run into this type of thing? Any suggestions? Legal
implications??

Thanks,

Subject: Spam:RE: Credit card storage

While I can appreciate and agree with everything that is being stated about
not storing credit cards, the one issue I constantly run into is this:

Even though CC's are processed through an Internet merchant account in real
time and not stored on a client's database, clients want to be able to
access the number so that they can a) issue refunds/credits or b) have
recurring billing, such as would occur with a subscription. I just went out
and checked Authorize.net's virtual terminal and in the refund/credit mode,
the form requires the full cc number and exp date. In this case should the
client just store the last 4 digits of the number and not store the exp date
at all, then contact the customer when a refund is to be processed
(referencing the ending card digits)?

In the case of recurring billing, Authorize.net now includes that as part of
their offerings.

Unfortunately, most clients get the impression that storing CCs is OK,
because they do business with Amazon and GoDaddy, and others which keeps
their numbers on file (with the user's permission). I'm sure these
companies have multiple layers of security.

Thanks,
Mark

IIRC, that error is also thrown when you feed rereplace() text that is
too big. Try getting the left() 5k or so. The title should surely be
in there if it exists!

If you do not want to host the mailing lists on your server,
FreeLists.org is an excellent (and free) mailing lists service that
can do it for you. However, the lists are all Internet and
technology-related. Check it out at http://www.freelists.org/

if you don't scope a variable, you force CF to have to 'hunt' through
the various scopes to find a variable with the given name. this is
generally considered to be a bad practice, as it's less efficient than
explicitly scoping the variable (thus telling CF exactly where to
look), and you could end up with a same-named variable in a
higher-priority scope getting referenced instead of the scope you're
looking for.

if memory serves, the order of precendence is:

query
arguments
variables (local)
CGI
URL
form
cookie
client

so if you have form.email, and myQuery.email, and just do
#email# with the intention of getting form.email,
you're actually going to end up with myQuery.email.

A client of ours sends a 100,000+ newsletter out monthly and would like to

Web based would be preferred, especially if it was in cf.

Making the page 100% height is tough and each browser interprets that
differently. You need to tell the page 100% of what? In my case I had
to
add height 100% to the body tag as well.

Hi,

it nearly make me want to use 's (did i say that out loud)

To see what i am trying to create go to
http://andyjarrett.co.uk/css.gif

For those of you who you can i am trying to create a 3 column site
with a header and footer.

h e a d e r
-
left col | content | right col
-
 f o o t e r

The 3 middle columns should always be 100% of the gap between the
header and footer. With the left and right columns being fixed. In
tables it would be

I have seen some templates but they rely on the content column to be
the longest. I have never found a solution as solid as the tables
version.

Its gotta be do-able - actually its probably well easy but I'm just
not seeing it.

Cheers for any help

Just wondering, I have been getting errors from time to time from information
not being passed correctly during a regular form submission. Most of the time
its either no information is sent or part of the information is sent. It
doesn't seem to be browser specific , I get the error in IE,FireFox, and
Netscape. Is this a common error? Could it be related to Network issues? How
does someone handle these situations especially if u do multiple form
submissions (one after another)?

Here is an example of code that was sent which is basically just text input
fields and below is the error message that was generated:

Note: This does not always happen with the same variable sometimes it doesnt
post any information.

software lifecycle/project management tool/process recommendations

2005-01-21 Thread Robert Redpath
We are looking to formalize our software development processes and are looking
for a tool/process that will help with the project management and track the
software development lifecycle.

Does anyone have recommendations for either?

Do folks use MS Project or another tool for project management?

How about FLiP? Anyone use it for development?

As always freeware is great but it's necessary.

Thanks,

Bob

The very basic edition is only $129, so not bad at all. Has served

Subject: Spam:lock file issues on windows server (OT)

I've not long finished a site for a client. It's done exclusively in
coldfusion (fusebox 4) and MS Access on a Windows 2000 Professional Server
running IIS 5. The client is now having problems updating the site - more
specifically, they can't update the database because it's *always* locked.
And when I say always, I mean always, with the exception of a server reboot.

I'm moderately aware of such issues due to other projects, and this has
caused some inconvenience in the past. Usually it is a simple matter of
patience with the lock file clearing itself, but not in this case. I've
checked ownership on the database (administrator) and permissions on the
folder (read/write/delete/ which are appropriate).

I can overwrite the database via the network (since I'm part of the admin
group) but I still can't delete that lock file so others can do this via
FTP. One other point of interest, this is the content of the lock file
itself:
ETHOLadmin

...so it's only the administrator keeping the damned thing open (my
interpretation anyway).

Am I missing something here or is there a simple way of updating the
database via FTP while by-passing the lock file, or is there another way of
removing the lock file that doesn't entail a server reboot?

Has anybody encountered anything similar before because I'm really at a
loss, and the client is wanting to be able to do this?

TIA

vspider remotely / search URL for dynamic pages

2004-08-13 Thread Robert Redpath
What is the best way to set up an index for a mixture of dynamic and static
pages?

Looks like vspider is the tool for this but unfortunately I don't have
access to the box.
Is it possible to run vspider remotely - not command line?

If not any thoughts on the best way to set up a search for a mixture of
dynamic and static pages?

RE: ONLINE BILLING

2004-07-07 Thread Robert Redpath
That is correct.  You submit your form to whatever custom tag your processor
uses (the verisign payflow pro tag is below).  You then receive back a
transaction ID which you can reference so you don't need to store cc numbers
in your DB.

 HostAddress="test-payflow.verisign.com"
 HostPort="443"
 TimeOut="30"
 PARTNER="VeriSign"
 VENDOR="vendorname"
 USER="uname"
 PWD="password"
 TRXTYPE="S"
 TENDER="C"
 ACCT="#FORM.acct#"
 EXPDATE="#FORM.CardExpMonth##FORM.CardExpYear#"
 AMT="#FORM.amount#"
 NAME="#FORM.name#"
 STREET="#FORM.street#"
 ZIP="#FORM.zip#"

If you are storing all the information in the database, and you are only
using the billing service just to verify credit card and make transactions,
then all you really have to send them is the credit card information/billing

  If you timeout, or get disconnected, retry the request --  it will:

RE: CFMail Sanity Check

2004-06-30 Thread Robert Redpath
I had this problem a while back and the thing that fixed it for me was
twofold.

First, I sent test emails to myself and filtered them with SpamAssassin
(there is a free win demo at http://www.no-spam-today.com/) and saw what was
making my spam score too high (I got it down from over 6 to under 1 and
changing the X-mailer didn't seem to have much effect on my spam score,
although I realized that originally I was sending two X-mailer headings when
I just added it as a CFMAIL PARAM).

Secondly, I checked the routing and IP from the mail header on a few spam
lists.  I found out that my IP range was banned (it was a comcast line) so I
switched to another line.

There was some discussion a while back about how the X-mailer, if set to
Cold Fusion (the default) would trigger spam filters/blocking as well (since
it was hypothesized that only bulk mail would come from CF, and therefore,
its spam). The Outlook (or express) was deemed at that time an acceptable
alternative.  So, can the assumption be that neither work now - what's a
legit, above board, double opt-in list emailer to do?

Thanks, Mark

You should check with the mail server admin and see if any mail is being
blocked dut to spam filtering (they may be able to whitelist your CF server
if this is the case).  As for the mailerid and x-mailerid - these do the
same thing and your mail has two headers that are the same.

Our SPAM filter, BTW, is tagging mail generated from your code as having
forged Outlook headers.  This may be due to the aforementioned doubled-up
headers which look like this:

X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1158
X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1158

think

  Just to make sure, are there any parameters that are duplicated in the

If you get LIFT Enterprise (or whatever they are calling it these days) you can check your dynamic pages online via their "page checking" service similar to the old Bobby page.

Its okay for what it does, however it is really more useful for static sites
than dynamically generated sites.

Something that spiders a site is better IMHO. Because you can get the
interactions, especially if you are doing a lot of includes

Also LIFT and any other accessibility checker is fine for those
accessibility items that can be programatically checked for, but it cannot
check for all items in accessibility. ie, it can check to make sure alt tags
are included for each image, but those alt tags actually have to have good
information in it.

Section 508 1194.22(a) states: A text equivalent for every non-text element
shall be provided.  So in order to make sure that it really hits 508(a),
human intervention is needed.  All an accessibility checker can do is tell
you whether there is an alt tag there or not, which isn't enough.

I.E.

While all the above will validate in an accessibility validator, only the
third one is truly accessible, since it actually describes the image in
detail.

Wow, got it just as I sent my last message..  I found your problem..  And
I also found a hole in my spam filter..

Your message didn't get filtered by by server because of this  192.168.0.8
ip address.  I happen to use the same range of ip's at home so the server
treats those as trusted.

However most mail servers are probably going to see that and realize it's
a non-routable address..

That's exactly it - I'm trying to figure out why it is bieng flagged as
spam.I'm downloading mailassasin for windows (don't have unix) and see what
that comes up with.

I have changed the mailer agent using MAILERID (using CFPARAM to change the
mailer agent just adds another mailer agent to the header)

That's a good idea I'll put in a message ID but first though I have to go to
the dentist (Ughhh)

Perhaps after the dentist I'll get it worked out...thanks for everyones

If you could find out WHY it's being flagged as SPAM that would be
helpful to you... barring that, there are some things that CFMAIL
doesn't (or didn't used to) do that cause them to get flagged as spam.
I seem to recall setting some special mail headers helps.. like changing
the mail user agent to "Outlook Express" or some typical mail client can
help.. view the headers of any of your current messages to find out the
mail user agent strings... then use the tag.  Sometimes
it's also helpful to add a message ID (I can't remember if CFMAIL does
that or not).

CFMAIL flagged as spam

2004-06-09 Thread Robert Redpath
I am sending out an email to a user who signs up for a message board (as
well as subsequent messages) and the emails are getting flagged as spam and
either not being forwarded by the email server or being sent to a spam
quarantine folder in the users inbox.  How do I get my CFMAIL email not
flagged as spam?

I've checked the CFadmin logs and the emails are being sent out of CF.  I
can send an email via my outlook to the user but somehowusing CF it shows as
spam.  I've also tried text email vs HTML. And I've added the MAILERID field
and the mail admin says there is a reverse DNS lookup on the email server
(Exchange 2003) but no luck. My CFMAIL code is below.  Anyone have any
ideas?

TIA,
Bob

It depends on where you use the error template

If you're using CFERROR and not catching exceptions, then you're limited

But on a server-wide error catching, you can use CFMAIL quite happily

As long as your error code is good, then you won't have too many
problems, but you should really test that it's not an error which will
cause an infinite loop before you attempt to build the email

track cferrors

2004-04-13 Thread Robert Redpath
How do you guys track cferrors?

I do not have access to the cf administrator so I use a form which emails me
the errors from the error template.  But I am looking for a better way to
view the errors since the solution I use requires the user to back page 2x
to get out of an error (I have a _javascript_ back button that goes back to
the original page but most users instinctively hit the back button) and
sometimes the errors don't get mailed with all the error codes.

Here is what I use:

RE: OT: Flash pop-up help

You have to call the _javascript_ function in the getURL action.

getURL("_javascript_:newBrowserWindow('videos2.html')");

Check the archives at chattyfig for more flash info.

You can use the getURL() function to call _javascript_ in the enclosing
page, just like you would out of an anchor tag.

RE: flash->cf to save data

2004-03-25 Thread Robert Redpath
In your CF page you are looking for URL variables: #url.id#, etc...

Have you tried plain 'ol variables: not #url.id# but #id#   ?

I don't know as it won't pop out a page to display the information if
I use either loadVars (sendAndLoad) or LoadVariables.  However if I
do getURL, which pops out a page, I see the proper querystring and CF
outputs the expected data.

yes.

I have with getURL and it looked fine, but not with sendAndLoad
because it suppresses (it seems to me) the page output or rather I
get it's redirected, supposedly to the flash app.

I can get this to work with loadVariables, but not loadVars, which
has sendAndLoad.  The reason that I want sendAndLoad to work is that
it's more flexible and I can track it's progress better.

Also to return variable data to Flash, do I do:

SELECT * FROM bodyfun_save_game
WHERE identifier = #url.id#

   saved_game=#return_saved_game.saved_game#

Should I expect that'll return a variable saved_game to the flash app?

Wasn't much about this in the archives and the cf-flash list seemed
lonely.  Don'tya-all do alot of Flash too?

Subject: flash->cf to save data

I'm trying to send data from Flash to Cold Fusion to have it entered
in a DB.  I can't get it to work.   I'm experienced at flash but have
not used loadVars before and am new to CF.

I have simplified the loadVars to a full url and a pretermined
string, rather than building the string.  The CF uses url.variable to
get the info, so I'm passing it via the querystring.  No matter what
I do, it doesn't update on the DB.  Here's the Flash code:

function sendData(save_string){

   // Create a LoadVars object to hold the variables we wish to send
  save_game_o = new LoadVars();
  save_game_o.id = 1;
  save_game_o.high_score=50;
  save_game_o.high_score_related_info=bent|tennis_player;

save_game_o.saved_game="user{ljkh,11,3,B,m}score{0,1,1}vegetables}wo{}so{}so
{}hph{0}";
  save_game_o.load = function(success) {
   if (success) {
    //doesn't show this//
    _level1.error.text = "success:"+success;
   } else {
    _level1.error.text = "error loading data";
   }
  };

  var composite =
"http://www.preventcancer.org/bodyfun/main_game/save_game.cfm";
  save_game_o.sendAndLoad(composite,null,"GET");

}

The CF is at:
http://www.phiresearch.umd.edu/bodyfun/main_game/save_game.cfm
I put it on a server that doesn't have CF just so that you can view
the code.  The flash uses a server that runs CF fine.

Also, I made a composite of the url and the querystring and it worked
fine, updating all the info, so it seems to be a Flash to CF
communication problem.

thanks for any help.

secure way to pass variables (was RE: Securing CF Apps.)

The sa account is a schema owner. Now the part about sa access only
from localhost changes everything. That practice coupled with the
schema lock down is very effective. Locking down the schema while still
allowing sa access from remote machines is a waste of time.

Certain network designs have more than one firewall whether that be
physical or virtual, but each firewall protects different network
segments. Having two firewalls protect the same network segment doesn't
make sense. Although, I have heard arguments in favor of the practice.
Seems like the law of diminishing returns applies to this practice. I
believe the practice of applying driver level constraints that are
already enforced by the database to be redundant and irrelevant.

I have had the same problem with my sites and raised the subject in this
list before.  I guess there's no real fix as far as a patch to fix IE.  The

Before processing the submitted form, I do this.

>>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 03/16/04 12:26PM >>>
We are experiencing random occurrences of the error message "element X
undefined in form" when using MSIE 6.0.  (X represents the names of
various form variables and is always the first form variable referenced in
the action file.)  This problem cannot be duplicated using Netscape.  When
the error occurs, debugging reveals the scope variable section "Form Names"
does not exist and thus indicating no form variables are passed through.
The form is submitted without error about 95% of the time and of course,
debugging displays the form names and values.  When the error occurs, we can
actually refresh the screen and the form variables are present again. (Of
course, sometimes we must refresh the page a couple of times before the form
variables are present.) This leads us to believe the form variables exist
but for some reason cannot be interpreted by MSIE at random occurrences.
This problem is not isolated to just one form either.  It randomly occurs on
numerous forms i!
n various applications.

I am passing sensitive data.

So would it be secure to input the variables into a database on each page,
passing the record id, and then querying the DB on a subsequent page to pull

If so, can I securely pass the record id via a form and somehow match it to
a specific CFID & CFTOKEN to then show that record id?

What kind of values do you want to pass in hidden form fields. They are

I have also been getting errors as well when session variables for a
membership form.  (Good to know that IE don't like sessions)  I originally
put used session variables to prevent duplicate credit card charges. Is
there any reason I can't just use hidden form to pass varibales from the
credit card authorization page? or is it better to use the CFTOKEN and CFID?

My basic structure is:

Form page
-Set up a session giving each session a random number ID
-Form - user inputs
-on submit _javascript_ form validating
- goes to process page

process page
-some additional form validating
-calculate totals $$
-payment processing (Verisign PayflowPro)
-sets all variables as session variables (total charges, etc...)
-insert transaction record into DB
- go to receipt page

Receipt page
-if successful transaction show receipt
-if unsuccessful transaction show error message and ask user to check cc#,
name, etc...on Form page
-destroy session variables

It serves the same purpose, a way to reference the the order once the user

tried, allows for you to pass customed fields but the values of the fields
are empty when the shopper returns.

RE: Dreamweaver Local Save Speed

Some hints on making DW faster:

Subject: OT: Dreamweaver Local Save Speed

So yeah, long time HS user... converted DW user.

DW has been 'alright' an all, but I've run into an issue on this one box
thats making me long for HS.

Problem is, when I save a file (locally) it can take up to 20 seconds!

I've read a couple threads with people who have run into the same problem,
and the only solution looks to be 'upgrade to 2k4'. But I'm not trying to
pay for an upgrade to fix a bug.

So here's my question, the time it takes to save seems to be relative to the
size of the file. For instance in fusebox its the large fbx_switch.cfms that
seem to take the longest, whereas a cfc saves instantly. I'm guessing DW is
doing some link/include checking each time the file is saved, but I can't
find an option to disable it.

Anyone have any ideas?

not exactly sure but can't you convert the date into a Julian date and then
divide 7. so can't the day of the week can be obtained from the remainder of
the division of the Julian date by 7.

Thanks for the reply, Tony.

I was hoping to avoid another column.

Is there any way in MySQL to convert the name of the weekday
to a numeric value for ordering?

If not, I guess I should have just used numeric values in the db
instead of names...

WINXP CFMX development install

2004-02-03 Thread Robert Redpath
I am trying to install the CF MX single user develpment server on a WIN XP
box and get everything installed.  When I go to access CF Adminstrator I get
the password prompt and enter it and the prompt just reappears.

If I put in the wrong password, I get the incorrect password error message.
But if I put the correct password in the prompt just reappears.

I though it may have been that something was wrong with my local IIS so I
chose the stand-alone web server at port 8500, but no dice.  I unintallled
it and reinstalled it but still no luck. I checked with the docs and
configured IIS, but still no luck

Anyone have any resources/suggestions on what the heck I am missing?

TIA,
Bob

RE: Simple UPDATE Stuff Driving Me Insane...

2004-02-02 Thread Robert Redpath
Shouldn't #Form.PropertyAgentStreetNumber# be a text datatype? What if
someone is "101A" Main Street?

As well as #Form.PropertyAgentTelephoneNumber#.  Shoudn't that be a text
datatype too? "555-555-1212" is text. As well as
#Form.PropertyAgentContactMobile#.

And therefore use ' around your varsAccess seems to better when
using ' sometimes.

Subject: Simple UPDATE Stuff Driving Me Insane...

Hi guys,

I've got an update field where I'm. you guessed it, updating a table.

I keep getting:

[Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket][Microsoft][ODBC
Microsoft Access Driver] Data type mismatch in criteria _expression_.

My code is below:

UPDATE PropertyAgent
SET PropertyAgentCompanyName = '#Form.PropertyAgentCompanyName#',
PropertyAgentFlatNumberHouseName =
'#Form.PropertyAgentFlatNumberHouseName#', PropertyAgentStreetNumber =
#Form.PropertyAgentStreetNumber#, PropertyAgentStreetName =
'#Form.PropertyAgentStreetName#', PropertyAgentVillageTown =
'#Form.PropertyAgentVillageTown#', PropertyAgentCountyState =
'#Form.PropertyAgentCountyState#', PropertyAgentPostcodeZip =
'#Form.PropertyAgentPostcodeZip#', PropertyAgentCountry =
'#Form.PropertyAgentCountry#', PropertyAgentTelephoneNumber =
#Form.PropertyAgentTelephoneNumber#, PropertyAgentContactFirstName =
'#Form.PropertyAgentContactFirstName#', PropertyAgentContactSurname =
'#Form.PropertyAgentContactSurname#', PropertyAgentContactMobile =
#Form.PropertyAgentContactMobile#, PropertyAgentEmailAddress =
'#Form.PropertyAgentEmailAddress#'
WHERE PropertyAgentID = #Client.PropertyAgentID#

My fields which are numbers are PropertyAgentStreetNumber,
PropertyAgentTelephoneNumber, PropertyAgentContactMobile.

When I change PropertyAgentContactMobile to
'#PropertyAgentContactMobile#' and correspondingly change the ACCESS
field to TEXT... the update works fine... so it seems like this is the
problem field as through tests, the others are fine.

Any ideas, this is bizarre?  The field attributes seem the same for
PropertyAgentContactMobile as they are for the other numeric fields.

RE: CFMail and some people email client seeing it as spam

2004-01-21 Thread Robert Redpath
If you are using MX you can use cfmail part to easily send both the text &
html versions of the same email.  I am guessing that your HTML email is not
being read properly by all the email clients you are sending it to,
therefore it shows blank.  By sending the mime/mulitpart alernative format
the client will read the html version if it can and if not the text version.

Subject: CFMail and some people email client seeing it as spam

Hello,

I am facing a bit of a problem, one of our clients has a email campaign that
some of her customers are receiving blank emails or can not open her emails.
There seems to be a common problem, but I am not 100% sure how to fix this.
Some even are just totally blank.

The emails are very basic html, and I can't see anything in the email that
would stop a email client from opening the email. It is a small percentage,
some are on iMacs using outlook express, so I think it is something to do
with the mail header but not 100% sure on this.

Are there know issues on this, or some articles that describe something like
this.

What would be my best plan of attack to find out what is going on here.

A also recall awhile ago, about html and plain text being send in the same
email could this be a solution to this problem.

Any advice, leads or feedback would be great.

Subject: Web services and cookies/session vars/etc

I'm buildiing a flash application with cold fusion web services.

I have two components for this... one handles authentication to our DB2
mainframe, and the other handles all the data.

In my flash app I have a number of list boxes that are populated with data.

I don't want my web service to expose this data to unauthorized users,
so I'm passing the username and password to the service each time, and
each method re-authenticates the user.

Unfortunately, this authentication process takes anywhere from 3-7
seconds ... each method invokes the authorization component, which in
turn CFHTTPs a perl script which handles the authorization and returns
success/failure and failure reason if applicable.

This is not particularly desirable =)

I know that accessing a CFC as a web service causes the application.cfm
to run, but I don't think sessions or cookies are available.

What I'd really like is for the user to be authenticated ONCE... I was
thinking of having the authentication component create a unique key
(like a UUID) and pass it back to the application, then have the
application pass it back to the methods to retrieve the data.. the
methods would then make sure the key was valid and current.

It looks to me like the only way to do this would be to store it in a
database (key, datecreated)... if I did this I would store the keys in a
local database rather than the DB2 mainframe for speed...

But... is there a better way?

Thanks

OT: online credit card processing and merchant accounts

Does anyone know of a good solution for the online ccprocessing and merchant

account)

I need to set it up as a reseller - so other organizations can process via
