I think it would be really great idea for the cfug.org.au website
featured an annual top 100 Coldfusion based websites in Australia
along with a count of the total number of sites each year. The basis
for being in the top 100 world be size (pages), average daily page
hits and number of developers. This way there'd be resource that we
can point the decision makers as an aide to promote Coldfusion and
with time we'll see the growth of the takeup of CF in Australia.

[cfaussie] Re: Form building/validating cf tools

2006-12-15 Thread Chris Velevitch

Dreamweaver does what you want, but I can't say if it's good, because
I don't know what else is out there to compare it with.

 Hey Guys

Can one or more of you please point me in the direction of some good CF
rapid form building/validating application type things. Or is CFForm all
there is. I have always steered clear from it. I have some co-workers
used to vb type form builders and they are complaining about CF's
 perceived slowness in this area.

 thanks in advance

[cfaussie] Re: Cold Fusion Is Old Hat compared to php aps etc !!!!

2006-12-15 Thread Sean Bucklar

Just to be devils advocate for a moment, how are the figures for
domains with say .aspx or .php extensions looking?

My impression is that a simple doubling isn't keeping up with broader
market growth. I'd hate to be peddling shoddy statistics.

Yes there are more php and asp pages, but they are both free products and
ColdFusion is not that far behind them (i.e. in the same order of magnitude
 of pages).

 Hi,

A client commented that CF is old hat and behind the times its market share
is diminishing beaten by asp, php and others

A list of largely highly trafficked websites in cf would be helpful to prove
this client wrong and champion the cf cause
