[cfaussie] google maps footpath view

2009-05-20 Thread Andrew Lorien

at the google maps presentation for the sydney user group last year
(around september?) someone asked about pedestrian-view. a good
question since the google offices in sydney look down on darling
harbour.

a friend just sent me this, from the UK:

[cfaussie] Re: google maps footpath view

2009-05-20 Thread M@ Bourke
one thing i find amusing and is also mentioned in the comments to the story
is its illegal in the UK to have a bike on these footpaths, also many of the
useful footpaths in London are very very old and narrow and only a unicycle
would go through.

but any addition to the maps is good, will take more researching for them to
work out what footpaths are actually owned the public etc.

[cfaussie] Recommendations for Inbound SMS provider?

2009-05-20 Thread Mike Kear

I'm doing a spec/proposal for a project that will involve quite a few
Australian inbound SMS numbers - reasonably low volume for each, but
totalling up to quite a large volume.

Does anyone have any recommendations for SMS providers who can set up
inbound SMS's quickly without fuss and since cost per will be a major
factor, need to be pretty low cost too.

OR alternatively any providers to stay away from?

I can Google too, so i'm not looking for lists of names, but
recommendations (or otherwise) based on people's experience with
handling inbound SMSs.
