Would GST even be applicable? The product is considered a US product
which shouldn’t get hit with GST under the free trade agreement. Same
deal when purchasing an online version….

Re: [cfaussie] Re: Coldfusion Builder 2 is now available to buy or try

2011-05-05 Thread Kai Koenig
Everything you buy from a local retail store has GST on top of it, doesn't it -
and it doesn't matter where it comes from (Well, besides maybe a few exempted
products depending on specific rules in AU).

A rather often ignored fact - if one downloads software from overseas for a
business purpose one'd get it GST free (usually). If you want to be compliant
with GST legislation in AU and NZ and your purchase is over a certain threshold
you'd have to declare this import (virtual import) at customs and pay GST on
it. It's very similar to when one goes overseas and brings back a box of CS 5.5
from the US or anywhere else. The person would have to declare it, pay
customs/duty (if applicable - and THAT is where a FTA comes handy) and pay GST
on import. Anything else is technically tax-evasion. Downloading a virtual good
and using it domestically is not treated any differently from importing a
physical good.

Cheers
Kai

2011-05-04 Thread charlie arehart
Zac, that answer is yes. But it's not like HS or DW where you could
right-click on the file and open it.

Instead, in both CFB1 and CFB2, you can do it by holding the control (or mac
key) and hovering your mouse over the filename. That should change to a
link, which when you click should open the file. This works not just with
CFMODULE but any other tags/functions that refer to files or CFCs, like
CFINCLUDE, CFINVOKE, CFOBJECT, createobject, and indeed HTML tags like a
href, script src, and so on.

Now, all that said, if you have not defined a server and connected your
project to that server, then this feature will only work for files that can
be found locally, relative to the current file. For it to find a CFC in an
entirely other directory, for instance, then obviously CFB needs to ask CFC
to tell it where to find CFCs, which would include the webroot, mappings,
and custom tag paths.

Hope that helps. (This is one of many hidden gems in CFB that I have covered
in a talk I did on the topic, available at www.carehart.org/presentations/
and which I will reprise and update for CFB 2 at cfobjective, and eventually
to be recorded as a CFMeetup talk.)

[cfaussie] Re: Coldfusion Builder 2 is now available to buy or try

2011-05-03 Thread Andrew
One feature I noticed missing from the Beta was the ability to do a
find and replace within the scope of selected text. (I may have
mentioned it in the labs.adobe.com forums - can't remember now and
they're gone so I can't check?)

Does anyone know if such a find / replace is possible anymore? I was
looking for it this morning and can't find it, and I am going to find
it a major inconvenience if this is not available.

Maybe it's Adobe's way of telling me I have too much duplicate
code... :-(

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the new find/replace, but if you want to
do what you are talking about - simply highlight the text, and I do your
replace. I believe it works.

Usually, when doing more complex find/replace stuff, I copy what I need into
an Untitled Text File, and do it in there, and paste it back.

Yup you can certainly do a search within the selected range.

Simply select the text you want to search within and Ctrl-F / Command-

You simply ignore the context in the search box - if you have selected
text - that is what gets searched.

Gavin.
