*Job Summary*

This individual will have an “Automate everything” mindset and be part of *a
DevOps engineering* team responsible for analyzing, developing, testing,
implementing, and documenting software enhancements and fixes to a large
application.  The team also owns the operational support of this
application.  The application is a critical, Tier 1 application, and is
used 24/7.  This resource will work directly with business partners and
other technical team members.  The team delivers software following an
Agile development methodology.

The ideal candidate will have a *strong Unix background, Java
troubleshooting skills, experience* *troubleshooting distributed systems*,
and a willingness to continuously learn.   This resource will perform
activities such as system administrator tasks,  configure and maintain
application infrastructure, write scripts in order to improve automation,
and analyze application level monitoring tools, just to name a few.



*Responsibilities/Job Duties:*

   - Help build and maintain environments (Dev, Test, Stage, Prod)
   - Participate in on-call rotation
   - Write and manage cron jobs for a large application
   - Read and analyze application level synthetic monitoring
   - Use monitoring tools like *Sensu, App Dynamics, Grafana*
   - Develop and execute load, stress, capacity, and longevity testing of
   systems
   - Assist with improving and maintaining *automated build environment,
   Jenkins, Maven or Ant*
   - Troubleshooting physical hosts to analyze performance
   - Assisting with system level maintenance & patches
   - Ensure that tasks are being completed in timely manner with limited
   direction
   - Participate in team meetings to discuss approaches to current projects

· Responsible for maintaining documentation of policies and
procedures for various tasks related to the operation of the environments

· Assist engineering team members in the identification and
resolution of software/platform related issues

   - Comply with all established procedures and policies of Comcast

*What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? (Please be
detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily
basis)*

*Need to have sound knowledge on Big data Hadoop, HIVE, HIVE QL, • Primary
contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and
supporting all types of applications consistent with established
specifications and business requirements to deliver business value.*

Identify and design most efficient and cost effective solution through
research and evaluation of alternatives.

• Participate in Design reviews, Test Case reviews, and Production Support
readiness reviews for new releases, provide inputs for Go/No Go decision •
Provides team leadership in areas of specific technical knowledge that is
frequently sought out by others with significant experience in a single,
complex development environment or across multiple platforms.

• Assist Service Manager and Service Director in providing management
status reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis • Ensure that all
documentation has been updated and that work product meets UDP / SOX
compliance requirements • Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all
in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan • Assist in
Providing estimates on break/fix, and problem-management activities  •
Identify application performance improvement initiatives and implement the
same in consultation with the Service Manager • Independent communication
with business partners to resolve issues and negotiate project related
items such as priorities and completion deadlines.

• Document suggestions for continuous process improvements for both OM and
development activities.

• Provide timely updates on tasks to reporting supervisor • Adherence to
the defined delivery process/guidelines (SLA Compliance etc) • Adherence to
the defined OM delivery process/guidelines (SLA Compliance etc).
