Re: [Chat] [Discussion] Armed Robbery Arrests

2010-11-19 Thread John Spurrier

Please see the message below from Chris Merriam of the Greater Remington
Improvement Assn (GRIA):

Dear everyone,

The Regional Auto Theft Task Force Unit arrested two suspects in connection to
the
rash of robberies in the Remington Charles Village areas over the past week.
They
have confessed to at least 6 robberies. The Baltimore City Police Department
can not
release their names because they are both juveniles.

Even so, and as always, be careful out there!

Please distribute this as you see fit.

A close friend who lives in Waverly, just on the other side of Greenmount
called this evening to tell me she witnessed two men with a gun hold up her
neighbor on his front steps earlier tonight -

This appears to be a pretty serious 'wave' we are experiencing.
Be very very careful out there -

Re: [Chat] [Discussion] Armed Robbery Arrests

2010-11-19 Thread Stephen J Gewirtz
Do we know anything about the ages of the juveniles arrested? Given the
gravity of their crimes (armed robberies), can they be charged as adults?

Keep in mind that somebody might have been killed as a result of their
crimes. For our protection, they need to get more than a slap on the
wrist, especially if we are going to get guns (and in light of the
murder of Stephen Pitcairn, I would add knives) off the streets.

And the advice to be very careful is quite relevant. Crime always goes
up as the holidays approach.
