[Chat] Heart's Place
Heart's Place Shelter on St. Paul Street opened today. I just took a huge box of sweaters, sweatshirts and several heavy coats to them for donation. They said they need all the donations of winter clothes that they can get, so if you have some, give them a call - 410-235-9269. They are open Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. -Greg Greg Alexander Freelance Writer/Editor Editor, Mason-Dixon Arrive 2629 Guilford Avenue Baltimore, MD 21218 410-243-3387 ugagra...@yahoo.com www.gregoryjalexander.com ___ Chat mailing list Chat@charlesvillage.info http://charlesvillage.info/mailman/listinfo/chat_charlesvillage.info archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/chat@charlesvillage.info/

Great! A friend of mine in Guilford just turned 40 and in lieu of gifts he had everyone donate to Heart's Place, which many (including us) did. Just wanted to help get the word out that the Heart's Place homeless shelter at St. John's will be opening on Nov. 7th. Last year the shelter almost closed due to lack of donations and funding. [Chat] Heart's Place
Emil, thanks for the info about the fundraiser. I don't think that we will be able to go at this late notice because of our 2 kids, but hopefully others on this Chat listserve may be able to. I will definitely be giving what we can. Greg et al, I don't know whether they did not respond because they are overwhelmed with their financial problems right now, but I did contact someone there in December and dropped off bags of toys left over from our Village Parents Toy Swap. I had called two numbers-- the church number and then I found the number for Heart's Place directly (410-235-9269) . I didn't hear back from the church until weeks later, but I had gotten an immediate call back from Heart's Place Shelter. They were very grateful to have something to give to kids who were there during the holiday season. I hope that they are able to make it over this financial hump and that the Charles Village community will be able to contribute now and in the future. http://www.stjohnsbaltimore.org/heart%E2%80%99splaceshelter Lauren Lauren Redmond 2636 Guilford Ave. Baltimore, MD 21218 (410) 366-0162 laredm...@hotmail.com _ Hotmail: Trusted email with Microsoft’s powerful SPAM protection. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/210850552/direct/01/___ Chat mailing list Chat@charlesvillage.info http://charlesvillage.info/mailman/listinfo/chat_charlesvillage.info archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/chat@charlesvillage.info/
