Re: cmislib 0.4 still waiting on two IPMC votes
Hi Jeff, There was a -1 vote [1]. I guess you have to start over... - Florian [1] http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/incubator-general/201101.mbox/%3CAANLkTinERWvEEdW6e2YQ+hnnFSzNx3xL-qDq91S=v...@mail.gmail.com%3E - Original Message - From: Jeff Potts jeffpott...@gmail.com To: chemistry-dev@incubator.apache.org Sent: Tuesday, February 1, 2011 9:10:46 PM GMT +00:00 GMT Britain, Ireland, Portugal Subject: cmislib 0.4 still waiting on two IPMC votes Just an FYI in case you are wondering. The vote to approve the cmislib 0.4 incubating release was sent to the IPMC a week ago and has still only received one binding vote (Nick's). I sent a second reminder to the general incubator group today so hopefully that will cause something to happen. Gab said he had a vote that took a week to get approved so I guess this is normal, but it seems painfully slow to me. Jeff

BTW, I have no idea WTF is a IPMC, and who is and who is not. S. On Feb 1, 2011, at 10:10 PM, Jeff Potts wrote: Just an FYI in case you are wondering. Re: cmislib 0.4 still waiting on two IPMC votes
Sorry, Stefane, you are correct, I should have counted your vote. I guess with the -1 from Stefan Seelmann it is moot. I also agree with you that looking through the archives is not a great way to count votes. Richard, I hope you're taking notes on this whole thing so that when you do the PHP client release my suffering will not be in vain. :) Jeff On Feb 1, 2011, at 3:26 PM, Stefane Fermigier wrote: On Feb 1, 2011, at 10:17 PM, Florian Müller wrote: Hi Jeff, There was a -1 vote [1]. Shouldn't we use something more modern than manual crawling through mail archives to determine who voted for what and what the tally are ? It might be worth you joining the list while the vote's ongoing Richard, I hope you're taking notes on this whole thing so that when you do the PHP client release my suffering will not be in vain. :) Depending on timings, Chemistry may have graduated by then. However, if you're a top level project, then you have to make sure you do all the checks the IPMC currently does yourself... Nick

I think these votes should be done using a web app, so that each person should be able to see at any time where we stand in terms of +1's, -1's, who has voted, etc. S. -- Stefane Fermigier, Founder and Chairman, Nuxeo Open Source, Java EE based, Enterprise Content Management (ECM) http://www.nuxeo.com/ - +33 1 40 33 79 87 - http://twitter.com/sfermigier Join the Nuxeo Group on LinkedIn: http://linkedin.com/groups?gid=43314 New Nuxeo release: http://nuxeo.com/dm54 There's no such thing as can't. Probably only Jeff needs to, as the person calling the vote I think these votes should be done using a web app, so that each person should be able to see at any time where we stand in terms of +1's, -1's, who has voted, etc. I think we've tended to stick with mailing lists, so that votes can come with comments and trigger discussions. Normally votes only take place on the one list, and everyone voting is on that list, so it's not a big hardship + everyone can see and discuss. Incubator voting where you don't have enough IPMC members on your dev list are the special case... Nick
