its the junk CD that comes with eg switches - part of their environmental
damage exercise along with all the other bits of junk that come in the boxes
(random slips of paper, 10 little plastic bags, bags in bags.

I like this part:

So they basically know people never actually feed the CD into something
that can read it. :-)

(Though the wording does seem to contradict the previous paragraph, or I
can't wrap my head around it.)
