[cisco-voip] UCCX 11 and Finesse

2016-01-13 Thread Anthony Holloway
Just a heads up to my Cisco Collab brothers and sisters.

If you are deploying UCCX v11 with Enhanced or Standard licensing, you can
expect Live Data to be broken in Finesse.

Cisco TAC has to root your box and upload new JAR files to fix it.

https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/cscux33949

And also, not a defect, but a feature which would be undesirable by most:
Finesse Supervisors with Reporting Role see all CSQs instead of just their
Team only (not specific to v11).

2016-01-13 Thread Anthony Holloway
You're not wrong. Customer environment: v7 CUCM, Unity on Windows, and
UCCX.

UCCX Engine crashed last Tuesday, and I tried like hell to bring it back.
UCCX v7 was end of support in 2014. No maintenance contracts to speak of.

Customer purchased/expedited a brand new pair of BE6K on M4 servers, v11
everything. Servers arrived on Friday of the same week. I spent the next
three days using PCD, COBRAS, and stare and compare to rebuild their system
and had them up and running by Monday morning. I had help though, and all
in I think we were at like 100 Hours by end of day Monday, and were able to
walk away with a working system.

Who needs weekends or a personal life or hobbies or down time? It's over
rated. Work is where it's at!

As a fellow collab engineer from England once described how it's done:: "We
just banged it in." I don't remember your name, but it was great meeting
you at PRTT11 in San Jose, CA.

Re: [cisco-voip] Common Partition Space Issue - Upgrade CUCM from 9.6 to 11.x

2016-01-13 Thread Erick Bergquist
A bit of time may be to long or not fast enough if you have a
deadline. I've tried that with Rtmt and it kind of worked and free'd up
space but not enough. On some though I had to manually delete log files
using Rtmt and bigger files found poking around command line with file list
finding stuff to clean up disk space. Surprising at the amount of disk
space some logs take up.

I wish there was a tool to clean up old firmware, etc from TFTP folders
instead of by hand also.

what size image are you using? Depending on which, the reallocation cop file
might not gain you much usable space.
instead of the free_common_space cop file, I crank the low and high water mark
for the logging partition and give it a while to clean up. it's one less cop
file to install and solves the problem. we've done it on everything from a
small, 2.5k image to a 10k image. works everytime.

Hi Guys,

Version 9.x has the bug of the limited Common Partition Space, so Upgrade fails.

I’ve read Upgrade document downloaded from Cisco Site, and I’ve noticed that
Cisco recommend to use two different Cop files to solve the Common Partition
Space requirements issue.

First: ciscocm.free_common_space_v1.3.k3.cop.sgn, to delete the ISO inactive
image on the Common partition

Second: ciscocm.vmware-disk-size-reallocation-1.0.cop.sgn, to expand and
relocate the Common Partition Space on the Virtual Disk.

The question is, anyone as already done one or all the procedure listed above?

Some recommendations?

Thank you very much and have a nice day.
