*Position Overview**:*

We are looking for someone with deep data sourcing and ingestion
experience, who enjoys writing code, and isn’t afraid to jump into the deep
end with something new.  You would be joining a startup-like environment
that is fast-paced, expects you to work autonomously, and to speak your
mind.  More specifically, you would work closely with Data Scientists and
other technical experts on data engineering initiatives to:

   - Support data sourcing and streaming / ingesting from a variety of data
   sources
   - Build large, multi-sourced databases, including associated meta-data;
   - Deploy data access solutions to customers.

*Required Qualifications**:*

   - Big Data / Hadoop experience, including experience with unstructured
   data sources (imagery, text)
   - Deep RDBMS and SQL knowledge
   - Advanced Python, Scala, C, and / or Java skills
   - Knowledge of data management, documentation, and cataloging tools
   - Ability to source and ingest data from a wide variety of sources

*Preferred Qualifications**:*


   - Experience with cloud infrastructures, especially AWS and its tools
   (Red Shift, DynamoDB, EMR, Data Pipeline, etc.)
   - GIS or geospatial data experience
   - Experience working with satellite and other imagery
   - Experience sourcing publicly available data, including knowledge of
   web crawling / scraping
   - Familiarity with data science (machine learning, advanced analytics)
   - Knowledge of Master Data Management concepts and practices
