Position Description This position will own the roadmap for mission-critical enterprise software products. This position will work under the direction of Director and VP level management to define, plan, direct and oversee business driven IT projects from end-to-end. The person in this role will: capture requirements, drive the detailed design efforts, control scope, report on schedule / risk, and manage overall delivery. The role will include close coordination and ongoing collaboration with divisional IT and clinical laboratory teams. Operational personnel, business leadership, UX designers, engineers, testers, and other resource groups will support the person in this role through the definition, design, and execution of initiatives. On certain projects a separate project manager may be assigned to assist with tactical tracking. You must enjoy working to solve challenges protecting the quality of delivery within the scope & deadlines. Responsibilities 1. Lead products through their entire lifecycle 2. Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables 3. Define project tasks and resource requirements (specify goals, schedule tasks, identify risks, plan contingencies) 4. Provide direction and support to project team 5. Lead an Iterative and Agile Project to promote rapid delivery of high-impact deliverables 6. Work with the team to understand scope of new projects and identify preliminary impacts for estimation 7. Translate business needs into actionable documentation/specifications, including use case scenarios, models and conceptual design diagrams to support iterative development 8. Communicate clear information to ensure project teams understand project plans and requirements 9. Conduct internal project status meetings and daily scrums with cross-functional, integrated teams 10. Prepare project status, meeting notes, and resource reports; keeps management and others informed of project status 11. Develop and maintain project documentation using industry standard project management tools such as Atlassian JIRA, LucidChart, PlantUML, Balsamiq, and others 12. Coordinate, motivate and follow up with all stakeholders & resources to ensure project progresses is on schedule and goals and requirements are me 13. Generates innovative ideas to resolve problems 14. Responsible for meeting or exceeding all defined target goals and milestone dates for the project in order to ensure its overall success 15. Liaise between Business Subject Matter Experts, Business Analysts, Engineering team and Project Management groups 16. Evaluate and present solutions objectively and facilitate conflict resolution 17. Participate in QA led test prep and planning activities, as well as defect triage to ensure projects are on track 18. Effectively communicate with IT and business stakeholders with varying levels of authority and responsibility Qualifications 1. 7-10 years of product management and/or technical analyst experience 2. Strong planning and estimating skills 3. Experience using Agile planning and estimation software such as JIRA as well as more traditional software such as Microsoft Project 4. Ability to work with business users, understand their needs, and translate such into final project deliverables 5. Ability to work with technical resources, understand their needs and coordinate their efforts to deliver the final project solution 6. Function as a leader throughout the project lifecycle 7. Bachelor's Degree 8. 2+ years of System Analysis experience 9. 3+ years of experience working with Agile Software/System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) 10. Understanding of data gathering/analysis 11. Experience working with testing team 12. Experience producing structured use cases, data-flows, process-flows, and business rules required for a clear picture of the scope. 13. Significant experience in requirements analysis techniques including structured analysis, context diagrams, data flow diagrams, entity diagrams, prototyping, use cases and functional/technical crosswalk for solutions design and proof of concept is preferred. Must be able to identify, access and resolve complex business problems/issues/risks and facilitate issue resolution and risk mitigation 4. Strong strategic focus and results orientation 5.
