Tech Project Manager/Sr. Business Analyst

Primary Location: NYC

Duration: 1 Year



Description



Private Banking Group, and various other business units to plan, execute,
and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This
includes acquiring direct and virtual resources and coordinating the
efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order
to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define
the projects objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life
cycle, including refining business requirements and defining functional
specifications.



Specific responsibilities include:

· Direct and manage project development from beginning to end

· Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support
business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders

· Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications
documents

· Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and
stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

· Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis

· Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project
goals

· Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants
and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle

· Set and continually manage project expectations with team members
and other stakeholders

· Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel

· Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team

· Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path

· Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using
appropriate tools

· Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements
documentation, and presentations

· Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the
project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas

· Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential
crises, and devise contingency plans

· Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved
parties throughout project life cycle

· Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the
success of the project.

· Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report
in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

· Coordinate business unit subject matter expert meetings in order
to solicit and cross-reference business and functional requirements

· Document business and functional requirements, including
workflow, business rules, and use cases

· Define/document application infrastructure and architecture



Qualifications Required:

· Minimum 5-10 years in a large complex banking organization or
major consulting organization acting in a formal project management capacity

· Competent and proficient understanding of general technology
environment (platforms, organizational structure and culture, teams
involved in the successful completion of technology initiatives, etc.)

· Excellent analytical skills required, including a thorough
understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate
them into application and operational requirements

· Excellent relationship management, communication, teamwork, and
influence skills; ability to operate at senior levels in both written and
verbal communications interacting professionally with a diverse group,
executives, managers, and subject matter experts

· Highly versed in various development methodologies, including
waterfall and agile software development lifecycle

· Strong familiarity with project management software/tools (e.g.
Microsoft Project)

· Strongly detail oriented and organized

· Self-motivated and can work independently as well as in a team
environment

· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a
high-pressure environment is crucial

· Proficient with MS Office applications: Excel, MS Project, Visio,
Word, and PowerPoint

· PMP certification (optional)

· CSM certification (optional), and/or exposure to Agile/Scrum
project methodology
