RE: [Clamav-users] Clamav-milter - Signature file sometime notattach??? Why???

2005-06-05 Thread bonar

Did anybody know's about this issue?
I've discover the msg status. It will appear if the mail is plain text
and without any attachment.
If do, it will hide. I I want to see it, I must go to the message
source. It will be there.
How do I append this signature to all message type (plain/html).

Thank you and best regards,

Bonar

Thank you and best regards,

But it still give me the same error in my log like below.

From your previous log, if you follow the mail messages, it was the
bounce
message that was causing this error.

From your info above I can't determine what caused the error. So I can
only
guess, do you have more than one clam-milter daemon running? have you
checked that all proceses stop before you restarted the milter? did you
install any of these using rpm?

The last question is brought because

I've enabled it just for test. And it's look like my test still failed.

I'm now stuck just because clamav email address going to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and not be [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I've try to create a new user, and the new user become
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

So, others guy in this clamav-users list has advise me to use 'man
clamav-milter'.
I get it from there and the reason that I use -b just because to make
sure, it's bounce the failure.

How long did u use clamav??? Can u advise me, how to administer this
thing?

 This is from man clamav-milter.
If not? What was that means??

What do you think failure message to the sender means and why do you
think you're advised not to use it?

RE: [Clamav-users] Re: FW: 553 5.5.4 [EMAIL PROTECTED]...Real domain name required for sender address

2005-06-02 Thread bonar
I haven't make any alias address.
Can u tell me how can I fix this problem or can u show me how do you
start clamav-milter.
I try to use this,

CLAMAV_FLAGS=
--config-file=/etc/clamd.conf
--headers --quarantine-dir=/usr/local/clamav-0.85.1/quarantine
--max-children=9
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
--server=mydomain.com
local:/var/milter/clmilter.sock

/usr/local/sbin/clamav-milter $CLAMAV_FLAGS

But it still give me the same error in my log like below.
(reason: 553 5.5.4 [EMAIL PROTECTED]... Real domain name
required for sender address)

This is the bounce message... everything looks good.

And this is my clamav-milter startup :

 sudo /usr/local/sbin/clamav-milter -b -s 192.168.1.1
 [EMAIL PROTECTED] -a [EMAIL PROTECTED]
 --max-children=9 -olb \ local:/var/milter/clmilter.sock

You have the -b option twice, better use a sane value for max-children
(i.e. 99); those details are not the problem.

And I still have this error:

 - The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -
 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
(reason: 553 5.5.4 [EMAIL PROTECTED]... Real domain
 name required for sender address)
 (expanded from: [EMAIL PROTECTED])

(reason: 553 5.5.4 [EMAIL PROTECTED]... Real domain

 (expanded from: postmaster)

Have you checked your alias file? Sendmail usually has it under
/etc/mail/ and it looks like you have postmaster aliased to bonar and
bonar to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .

To clarify, the milter isn't dying... it's just refusing to accept

 with libclamav.

In my case the milter is dying, and needs to be re-started... (started
 should I say).

 ___
 http://lurker.clamav.net/list/clamav-users.html

In the previous thread it was pointed out that due to the behavior of
sendmail libmilter, which is compiled either staticaly into the milter
or on some distributions as a shared object library, there is little
difference in refusing to accept connections and dying.

This is because libmilter will abort a milter that has consecutive
errors responding to a sendmail's connection attempts.

 (

I was explored the possibility of changing this behavior but its not
quite clear what the absolute correct course of action is: for more
 information see

 http://groups-beta.google.com/group/comp.mail.sendmail/browse_frm/thread/65658b2f5797c626/8a61ae5f825ca3aa

 )

Therefore milters must always do all that is neccesary to handle every
sendmail connection. If scanning is not possible they need to either
TEMPFAIL immediately or after a (very) short wait for resources to
become available or let the message pass through unscanned.

Check the first option in the manpage.

The MSA doesn't talk to 192.168.1.1, it talks to 127.0.0.1. Why would
you try to change that?
