Hello all, Since yesterday, 10:26:52 CST, I've gotten 30 if these in the mail log: "Timeout reading from clamd daemon at /var/spool/MIMEDefang/clamd.sock" Before that I can't remember when I've seen this message - perhaps years. This is on a low volume server with < 3500 total connection attempts per day. Has anyone else been seeing this? -- Mike G. ___ clamav-users mailing list clamav-users@lists.clamav.net http://lists.clamav.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/clamav-users Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: https://github.com/vrtadmin/clamav-faq http://www.clamav.net/contact.html#ml

Freshclam simply checks if the version number reported by DNS is the same as the version number it itself is. If the check doesn't match, Freshclam simply reports that the version is outdated, no matter if the version number in DNS is less than the installed version. Once you see the updated DNS record, the warning will go away. In short, you can ignore the warning. I see, thanks. Re: [clamav-users] daily.cvd update issue.
On 07/19/2011 03:02 PM the voices made Dennis Peterson write: I suggest that you rely on our twitter feed for real time info (twitter.com/clamav) In my opinion, if twitter is a requirement for using ClamAV then this project is doomed. I don't see our 'business' endorsing our NOC playing with twitter as part of the job. I hope they don't read this list as I've just removed a lot of McAfee for Linux and replaced it with ClamAV instances in our production DC and I don't want to have to talk to them about twitter. +1 ___ Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: visit http://wiki.clamav.net http://www.clamav.net/support/ml
Re: [Clamav-users] simplest replacement for ancient amavis-perl
So, basically, all I need is a replacement for a perl script that throws a wad of text at clamscan and then either passes it on for normal delivery or stashes it away in a quarantine directory, with a note passed on to a local admin address in the latter case. I'd also recommend MIMEDefang. I'm not the author, just some user. ___ Help us build a comprehensive ClamAV guide: visit http://wiki.clamav.net http://www.clamav.net/support/ml
Re: [Clamav-users] No announcement of 0.83 on clamav-announce ML
Piggy-backing: Maybe they could stick a broom up their bum and sweep the floor at the same time, too. Dayum, guy - this stuff is free. Get off your butt and build your own binaries - hell, it takes maybe 10 minutes, is repeatable, and you get all the credit. Don't even suggest they put my Solaris source builds in limbo until all the weenies have their little rpm's all bundled up, ribboned, bowed, and ready for a point and click install. This is not rocket science - rocket science is loud and makes smoke trails. Y'all are giving Unix a bad name. dp I'll second that. ___ http://lists.clamav.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/clamav-users
