[Clamav-users] clamav vs amavis (was: Where is the quanantine folder?)
I use clamav, and know a bit about it but I know nothing about amavis. Can someone give me a quick list of how the two are related? Thanks, -Jim P. ___ http://lurker.clamav.net/list/clamav-users.html
Re: [Clamav-users] clamav vs amavis (was: Where is the quanantine folder?)
In short: amavisd-new is an interface between a mail server (such as Postfix), and content filters, such as Anti-Virus (ClamAV for example), Spam Filtering (such as SpamAssassin), etc. It also does some filtering of its own, for example: it bans files that have two extensions: Ronny.exe.vbs for example. -RoNNY On 7/17/05, Jim Popovitch [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I use clamav, and know a bit about it but I know nothing about amavis. Re: [Clamav-users] clamav vs amavis (was: Where is the quanantine folder?)
Jim, I never worked with Sendmail or any of its milters, although I have several Sendmail books, and one about writing milters. I work with it in conjunction with Amavisd, and it's simply great. Please check www.freespamfilter.org for several distribution using Amavisd/Clam/SpamAssassin.
