No worries.

It is definitely a Clementine issue. Various other software recognises the
card and behaves as expected. Even Strawberry - which I think is a fork of
Clementine.

I could reformat. Or I could just use Strawberry :-)

Your file manager see's the sd as an external device, but clementine 
doesn't?

My experience using Clementine is that anything you plug in & is recognized 
by a file browser, will be on clementine as a device

When all else fails reformat
