I've always thought teak looks best when it's scrubbed white--across the grain
of course. Chemical cleaners take years off the life of a teak deck. Oil also
takes away from the wonderful non skid properties of a teak deck.

Isn't it great when everything comes together? :-)
Congrats,  looks like a great boat.  There is a fellow here who had a Baltic
42, now a 52, he uses some type of oil on the deck and the teak looks as good
when he sells them a when he buys them. .

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are going to survey next week and all
going according to plan, Peregrine is going to a lucky new owner.
The first of no doubt many tears have been shed, but the excitement of having
the new boat is helping ease the pain.
The new boat is a Baltic 47 built in 1995.

Cheers

Re: Stus-List AIS improvement + general rewiring

Next snag - Turns out Navionics on Ipads does not support AIS.
I got the wifi link going, but I could not see any targets. Looked it up when I
got home and now I know why. iNavX will work, so I guess I'll be grabbing that.

OTOH the phone had no issue connecting to the $30 Yakker wifi access point.
More to follow once I go down there tomorrow, but if this works it is a very
good buy!

I also need to consider how much belt and suspenders wiring to do. The VHF
could possibly run off the CP180 GPS instead of the AIS GPS. The AIS GPS signal
can feed the plotter if the GPS for that dies. I could probably think of a few
other things to cross connect too and end up with a mile of wire.

The plotter goes off to SH tomorrow. $35 to upgrade the firmware and $15 more
to wipe the MMSI from one of my old VHFs. I have to say Standard Horizon is
doing well by me today :)

Also props to MilltechMarine. I had one of their AIS receivers for years and it
