Re: Stus-List Seattle Marina fire
Hi Dennis, I’ve spent some time at that marina, and looking at the news photo last night, about 6 boat houses burned at the base of the ramp. So powerboats, nothing with a mast on that side. Small sailboats closer to shore may have some damage. Thanks for checking in, Lee ___ Lee Youngblood & Kathleen Davis s/v Simplicity, a 1974 C&C 35-II Shilshole / Seattle > On Mar 28, 2020, at 5:17 08PM, Dennis C. via CnC-List > wrote: > > Hopefully no listers boat(s) are in the Harbor Island Marina fire in Seattle. > > Dennis C. > ___ > > Thanks everyone for supporting this list with your contributions. Thank you all so much, I've got one coming in the mail. I was down to my boat today and tightened my lifelines and resealed one of my cockpit hatches that was leaking last season Tomorrow I'm going to tackle a manual head to replace a porti-pottie I can't wait to get sailing! Stus-List Fwd: Marinas in Md, Covid-19
Here in the Great White North our club has made the decision to delay everything by one month. All buildings are off limits. We may check our boats but working on them is discouraged. That means launch will be June 5th. Hoping we get a week or so to prep our boats prior to launch. Our club's latest update requests that we avoid using the foreshore workshops unless it's an emergency, and the mast crane is off limits. As of last week, I have been using the head on the boat exclusively, and the one time I used the metal shop prior to the update, I brought my own safety gear, and touched only the bench grinder; from now on I will just bring things home to work on. The shared washrooms likely remain the biggest risk in most facilities. I was able to book a survey for early May when my insurance renews, so I now have a deadline to get everything back together. The insurance company would have given me an extra 6 months on the survey, but at a 10% surcharge on the insurance. Since I was afraid this 10% would just become part of the rate for the following years, I chose to find a surveyor who could do it sooner. Now I just need to stop taking things apart (it has become a bit of an obsession...), and begin putting them back together again... :) -- Shawn Wright shawngwri...@gmail.com S/V Callisto, 1974 C&C 35 https://www.facebook.com/SVCallisto On Fri, Mar 27, 2020 at 9:15 AM CHARLES SCHEAFFER via CnC-List < cnc-list@cnc-list.com> wrote: > Hey, > Good news! I found one for you, but it is in Austria: https://www.nauticstore24.at/Fallaustritt-Langloch-20181.htm If you order it from them you'd probably receive it in a week or so. Stuff comes from the EU surprisingly quickly. Google Translate is your friend on any of these pages. There is a Marine supplier in Budapest, Hungary who claim it is available and can get it for you as well: https://www.maritimehajosbolt.hu/termek/kotelkivezeto-arbocbol-53x12mm-av-kotelkive5 You might want to check with Holt Allen directly (but I don't see it listed on their website or in their catalogues): https://holt.eu/contacts/ You'll get a few more hits online searching "Holt" "HA4383" as well, but nothing in North America I could see. Stus-List More COVID-19 Restrictions
I just read where Florida will be setting up check points to monitor for Louisiana folks coming into state. Will require 14 day self quarantine or get a misdemeanor summons. I think they're primarily looking for folks from New Orleans. I think they're already doing it for folks from New York. Florida Governor wouldn't shut down beaches during spring break. Go figure. Mississippi is beginning to make similar noise about folks fleeing New Orleans to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I interpret that I can still go to Touche' but can't be running around Pensacola. Interstate travel is protected but what you do once you get there isn't. I planned to self quarantine on boat a couple days anyway. I would be a bit put out if I have to bring Touche' back to Louisiana because I can't use it in Pensacola. Texas is also requiring folks flying in from New Orleans to self quarantine. I guess flights from New Orleans to Dallas will only have folks connecting to other flights on them. Rest will be in rental cars driving. Dennis C.
