Stus-List Re: Force 10 Stove

2023-06-15 Thread andrew macLean via CnC-List
I installed two #6 aluminum (tall skinny) tanks on our 30 mk1’s pushpit rails
using the rail mount assembly from Sure Marine in Seattle. They sold us the
tanks, rail mounts, regulator, gauge, solenoid, solenoid switch, everything
except the hoses. One of the brackets has the regulator, gauge, and solenoid
mounted; the other is plain to hold the spare tank (which we also use for the
BBQ). It’s a great setup, reasonably priced, 100% would buy again. Also bought
a long hose from Greenline who also sold a hard plastic wrap for chafe
protection where it passes through bulkheads cabinetry and the like. Super
simple install took an afternoon, solid, dependable, ABYC compliant, looks
great on the boat.

Joe,

Fisheries Supply carries the 1.4 gal tall thin tanks, and the fancy mount. I
just finished converting my Sabre to propane. One thing is, only one connection
inside the boat at the stove. I mounted the regulator and solenoid valve under
a stern pulpit seat. Teed in a hose to the grill also.

On my LF39 I get a few months out of a 2.5 gallon bottle of full time use.

low budget even for me!

I may actually try a little torch tank and see how long it lasts. We do all the
cooking we can on the outside grill anyway to not heat up the cabin.

Hi Joe

What was your plan for a propane locker? Boats with CNG systems tend not to
have one

In our case CNG is easy to source but certifying the tanks is nearly impossible

Does the standard American size Force 10 3-burner stove fit the C 35 MK I?

I would assume it does, but want to check.

I am thinking of going from CNG to propane, CNG is very hard to source now in
most places.

Thanks Randy!

If #1 was 1971 and #79 was 1972 C could be making 70 hulls a year. Then
there’s that the 74 portion of the HIN doesn’t necessarily mean when the boat
was built but the earliest it could have been built. My boat being #281 does
make sense. Wow that’s a lot of boats in a short time.

That sounds like a lot! What does $18k buy you? Surely more than a mast step

Stus-List Re: parting out 1972 C frigate

2021-09-27 Thread andrew macLean via CnC-List
Hi Jim,

Do you have any photos that you could link to?

Does your boat have a roller furling boom? I’ve been hunting for the winch
handle for a C roller furling boom of this era.

Thanks,
Andrew

I’d love to use something more like a socket. I’m not familiar with 12 point
sockets. I’ll go look at google now. Thanks!

Thanks David. I think mine's is a little different. It’s a 7/16” square drive
that I need to turn. I don’t think I could do it with a screwdriver.

I’m new here and don’t think we can post images?
