I did mine in 2012 and it still looks new. I still have the leftover and just checked. I ordered 3/4 inch. It fit perfectly because it curves in to the groove. I removed the old tape with a 3M Stripe Off wheel and used 3M 5/8 gold tape. I did not add the star. Looks good. Dennis C. I have a C&C 99 and just measured mine. 1/2” will work best if I use 5/8” the edges will protrude out of the mounded cove and it will be much more difficult to line up. Since the edges may be out of cove the edges may wear out quickly.
