Problem was the groove for water flow was filled with water so the tape would
fail and not stick after getting soaked there. Don’t se the need for this as
water still sits right outside the channel. The wick idea at the I got from
this group is working great along the lo point of toe rail to remove that
sitting water.

Clear 3M Heavy Duty Mailing Tape works great to seal holes from rain. The
sun's UVs will breaking down after several months, but it is my go-to tape for
temporary hole covers as it leaves very little residue.

I've been using blue painter's tape, but it will eventually let water through
if it gets wet enough.

Duct tape keeps the water out, but I need to take it up and replace it every
couple days. I've got the first 2 coats of 3 down and want to try to avoid
using chemicals on it before the paint gets a long cure. It's just a one-part
polyurethane -- TotalBoat Wet Edge from Jamestown Distributors.

my engine control panel that is removed).

This is a little off this topic, but, for me anyways, shrink wrap tape it the
new duct tape. Sticks like hell, removes with no residue, and very tough.

Costs a little more, but for me well worth it.

The Mayor saw this and issued an order to close all boating activities for
pleasure boaters.

All Marinas are closed -- boat owners will be allowed to check on their
boats, but no work or maintenance will be allowed. I'm assuming our
liveaboards will still be allowed to say aboard.

I'm in the middle of painting my decks/cabin/cockpit and have all the deck
hardware removed (including cleats -- my dock lines are currently ties to
the toe rail) so there are a lot of holes to keep covered.

All public ramps are closed, and police will be patrolling the waters and
will stop any boats under way.

The only exception is for commercial fishing vessels that sell to
businesses.

Good Luck to you all.
