Thanks guys. First time I have seen the embedded plates. I was wondering if it was due to the first production run of the 121 and things changed in the future. That said, I would hope that the threads were coated simply due to dissimilar metals and associated corrosion. I found no references in the owners manual to the deck hardware approach, which was what prompted the question. I agree, I went on a tour through the CNC / tartan factory 15 or 20 years ago, and I do remember them saying that they embedded aluminum plates in points where they had to bolt deck hardware. I would call the factory, and ask them if they used tef gel on those bolts.
