It never fails to amaze me how even 10 miles from shore or any object there can be a wind hole. One minute you are sailing along in 4 - 6 kts of steady breeze, the spinnaker pulling nicely, then in a matter of a few feet you enter the hole. The apparent goes straight forward, caused by the boat speed, the spinnaker blows back and wraps around the forestay - mast - shrouds, and the main rises to center. Chuck, had a great sail to Swan Creek Saturday, not so good coming back on Sunday. We were looking for you out there, but no luck. Like Joe says, Corsica is great, but I prefer Reed Creek just shy of Corsica. I should be sailing the Comet NA's this weekend on the Chester at Rock Hall YC, but work has gotten in the way. We'll keep an eye out for you and one day meet up for drinks at PSA or Broad Creek. And. you still have the whole of the Eastern Shore south of where you are - the Corsica - the Chester - Eastern Bay and the Miles - the Choptank and Tred Avon - and you still haven't been below the middle of the Bay. Our county alone (Talbot) has roughly 6-700 miles of shoreline - little and big rivers (really tidal - very little current) and wonderful anchorages. Other than that, it is kinda boring. Hey, I just watched Mexico and Brazil in the World Cup. Mexico and Brazil seem to have a long standing rivalry. Zero-Zero and everyone was happy because Mexico didn't lose to Brazil. The bar was going wild and I was still trying to figure out what was going on. Isn't there a sudden death thing? Everybody is happy, because nobody wins and nobody loses. What a concept.
