John,
You should give White Water Marine a call.
http://www.whitewatermarineinc.com/ladders.html
<http://www.whitewatermarineinc.com/ladders.html>
Like you, I did not have a transom ladder on my boat. I was able to get
measurements and photos from several kind members on the list. I called
several places and White Water Marine gave me a great price($330).
BUT MORE IMPORTANT, during our phone conversation I explained how I obtained
the measurements, and I was told not to worry as they would use the original
design specs as they built the original ladders for C
I could not have been more happy with the outcome. (See bottom of
http://svjohannarose.blogspot.com/search/label/TopsideWork
<http://svjohannarose.blogspot.com/search/label/TopsideWork> )

I don’t know if they fabricated all of the transom ladders for C but there is
a very good chance they made the original for yours.

Re: Stus-List TRANSOM LADDER FOR SAILBOAT 5 STEP STAINLESS STEEL

2012-08-14 Thread djhaug...@juno.com
Okay I thought I would give an update on this... I like the ladder. I kind of
wish it folded in the middle and I may have it altered to do that. The wife
thinks it looks a little narrow when compared to some of the custom made ones
on other sailboats in the marina. That doesn't bother me though. It feels
like it is made of pretty heavy tubing and seems strong. The second ladder
shipped with MUCH better packaging. It was in a real box with plenty of
packing material. I thought the brackets were a little rough and I had to
remove burrs where the holes for the bolts were drilled. I ended up scratching
the boat name because of this while i was dry fitting it. That pissed me off!
Had i simply installed it without removing the burrs it would probably have
caused it to leak... Now that it is installed, I like it. I get 2 rungs
below the water and when folded, the 2nd from the bottom rung lines up with the
stern rail and the rest sticks up above the rail. Which, is why I'm thinking
of having a fabricator add a hinge. I'll wait on that though and see how I
feel after using for a while. I meant to take some photos before I left the
marina but, I forgot... Danny

yea...it looks like a mis print, but thats a good point. The standoffs seem to
be able to move...I'll ask them

Danny,

Can the stand-offs be moved? #65533;It seems to me that they should be lower
than pictured, otherwise the ladder is going to bend. #65533;I don't know
about the grade of stainless.

2012-07-27 Thread Russ Melody

Hi Rich,

Thanks for having a look.
So now I see, the 5 step will allow the bottom step to be well below
the surface. Good thing.

I had to get my head around the Binnacle site images... the detail
ones are upside down!

Also: I'd get the 5 step unit for any boat over 27 ft or so. Easier to use.

Hi Rich,

You might want to have a look at the 4 step model too. It may be
more appropriate for Danny's boat (size = 33').
