Re: [cobirds] Tri-colored Blackbird

2019-10-14 Thread Joe Roller
Interesting question.
per eBird "Species Maps", Tricolored Blackbird is endemic to states
bordering the Pacific, with no records
east of there.
Sibley guides illustrate the "Bi-colored" Blackbird, which is an intergrade
with the more typical Red-winged Blackbird. They are also found in
California.
>From time to time Red-winged Blackbirds seem to have Tricolored Blackbird
type plumage,
but that is an illusion apparently.

[cobirds] Re: Tri-colored Blackbird

2019-10-14 Thread Sharon Kay
Folks. I know the range map. Nevermind. I got the answer. No records. And I
am not saying I saw it. I know better. Just trying to convince someone and
I thought telling her no records of it would help. Thanks.

[cobirds] Red-throated Loon - Pueblo Res

2019-10-14 Thread Brandon
This morning (14 Oct) many of us saw a Red-throated Loon, two Red-necked
Phalarope and a juvenile Sabine's Gull off South Shore Marina at Pueblo
Reservoir.

At Swallows at far west end of Pueblo Reservoir, there were 38 Long-billed
Dowitchers, two Lesser Yellowlegs, and a white colored Mountain Bluebird,
with tinged with blue! Pretty cool looking bird.

A good morning of birding in Pueblo with the MAMBOs.
