[cobirds] Chatfield Horse Stables Off Limits
Several of us were approached by the State Park Police this morning and informed that they do not want non-horse people wandering around inside the stable/corral area. We are free to use the parking lot (where the Golden-crowned Sparrow has appeared) or to approach the rabbit brush area on the east from the road. [cobirds] checklist compiler tool
You can also import lists to eBird from Excel by using the Import option. It requires that you: * Use a Comma Separated Values file (when you open Excel files, go to the box after File Name which ordinarily says 'All Excel files' -- click -- and then click on the first line, "All files.") * Fill in the top 14 lines. (Leave Lines 2 & 3 blank; you don't have to fill in Line 14) * Have no blanks otherwise * Use this date format: "11/14/2020 " * Start the bird list on Line 15. | | | | It also allows you to enter several counts one one file. I can send you a template if you would like. I've used this for years (and for 1000s of checklists). [cobirds] Black-capped Chickadee Territorial Behavior & Great Horned feathers - Arapahoe
I believe it was Wednesday that I started hearing Black-capped Chickadees start up their well-known, two note songs around Centennial (Arapahoe). I also noted them seeming increasingly intolerant of others in both my yard and in neighborhood trees. A lot of active chasing going on right now. I'm also pretty sure I heard earthworms in the leaf litter on one of the warmer nights this week. Seemed early, but the mild weather might have had them active? On a dog walk mid-week, I spotted what I think are two downy Great Horned Owl feathers in two different yards, separated by about 250 feet or so. Seemed unusual. - Jared Del Rosso Centennial, CO -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group. [cobirds] Winter/Pacific Wren at Pella Crossing, Boulder County
At about 11 AM today a Winter/Pacific Wren was observed at Pella Crossing, Boulder County south of Hygiene. We saw it for brief looks 3 times over a 20 minute period as close as 10 feet. It seemed to be very ruddy for a Winter Wren but I did not not anything definitive for either species and it was completely silent. The location was in the Marlatt section of the park, west of 75th Street. There are toilets near the far southwest side and the bird was along the ditch that crosses a path just east of those toilets. It did not seem to be particularly shy but very good at keeping out of sight as is typical. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
