Re: [cobirds] Black-legged Kittiwake, Adams County CONTINUING

2021-12-13 Thread Susan Rosine
The Kittiwake was continuing 12/13, in the same small pond that Adam
described (below). Although I couldn't find it when I looked around noon,
it was there at about 4pm.

[cobirds] Massive Snow Goose Flock/Weld

2021-12-13 Thread 'The Nunn Guy' via Colorado Birds
Hi all

Woods Lake Saturday hosted a "ginormous" Snow Goose flock that numbered in
the multiple thousands. It was an impressive sight to see.

[cobirds] Rawhide CBC December 26, 2021

2021-12-13 Thread Douglas Kibbe
Even if you don't believe birds are real:
This is a reminder to those interested that Rawhide CBC will be held on Sunday
December 26, 2021.
The initial meeting place and time, i.e., the cooling pond overlook parking lot
and 8AM, are unchanged.
Most importantly, those interested in viewing the ponds within the power
station must let me know ASAP so that I may submit their names in advance to
power company security. This is the only opportunity for birders to gain
access to the heated water discharge area which attracts huge numbers of water
birds in winter.
Please let me know now if you are interested! The Audubon CBC website does not
allow participants to preregister on it. You need to contact me!

*Motus GPCD Network Webinar*

Thursday, December 16th from 11am - 12pm MST

The Motus Wildlife Tracking system (Motus) is a network of automated radio
telemetry stations that offers an effective method to explore migratory
bird movement. Join Bird Conservancy of the Rockies Avian Ecologist Matt
Webb to learn more how Bird Conservancy is creating a network of Motus
stations across the Great Plains and Chihuahuan Desert. These stations will
then allow us to track these birds over time to create a new understanding
of how grassland birds move throughout their life cycle.
