[cobirds] Scarlet Tanager, Jefferson Co.

2012-06-24 Thread Tamie Bulow

 Hi, COBirders:

My sister-in-law Annie Walker (lives in Evergreen, Jefferson Co, off North
Turkey Creek Road), sent me a picture of a Scarlet Tanager from her birdbath
today. Just a brief visit, but time enough to snap a picture.

Wish it was MY birdbath

[cobirds] Chimney Swifts over downtown Springs, El Paso Co.

2012-05-02 Thread Tamie Bulow

 Hi, COBirders~

On April 30, I heard the familiar chatter of Chimney Swifts over my house as I
was leaving for a morning walk. I had a visual on two of them, and now 2 days
later, I have heard more chatter overhead. So comforting to hear them back!

[cobirds] Cinn. Teal, Prospect Lake, El Paso County

2012-03-15 Thread Tamie Bulow

 Hi, CoBirders~

Today's walk around Prospect Lake in Memorial Park, El Paso County, starred a
male Cinnamon Teal and 2 female teal with. Naturally they were in the center
of the lake, but he was stunning.

The crows have started building a nest in my front yard elm tree, and it is fun
to watch them during the process. They really like to dunk their food in the
birdbath just below their tree, so I am sure that was the magnet.
