[cobirds] Nashville Warbler (Prowers)

2015-04-16 Thread Nick Komar
A brief stop at the riparian woods behind Lamar Community College in southeast
Colorado yesterday afternoon turned up a few goodies:
Barn Owl
NASHVILLE WARBLER
Orange-crowned Warbler
Brown Thrasher (2)
Northern Cardinal (3)

The warblers were with a loose flock of Yellow-rumped Warblers and
White-crowned Sparrows on the hill at the south end.

[cobirds] Nashville Warbler, Prowers

2013-05-19 Thread Eric DeFonso
I made my first-ever visit to the legendary Lamar CC Woods today, albeit in
the heat of the day around 1:30pm. (I'm in transit to Two Buttes for doing
some RMBO work.) I wasn't expecting a whole lot in the way of migrants,
although I can now see the attraction of the place. I did find the resident
Northern Cardinals which was a delight, and I also saw and heard a
strapping male Nashville Warbler, my first for Colorado after so many near
misses.
