[cobirds] Re: More Spring arrivals/Weld
Hi all Forgot the Thick-billed Longspurs (12+) along CR 45 north of CR 112 (before east-west telephone line) on both sides of road. Excellent weather conditions at 0730 ... um, until the wind appeared 0820. There was another birder at CR 110-area looking for longspurs, too. The boxed area below is probably the most reliable longspur spot for both species. CR45/122 is the start of annual Nunn BBS route. CR 41 (t-intersect) btw 102/100 a favorite for Sage and Brown Thrasher, sparrows, shrikes, orioles, Blue Grosbeak, etc Thanks, Gary Lefko, Nunn https://www.friendsofthepawneegrassland.org/ https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/birds-and-more-of-the-pawnee-national-grassland [image: longspur box.png] On Sunday, April 17, 2022 at 3:19:38 PM UTC-6 The Nunn Guy wrote: > Hi All! > > Ventured out for a short period of time on the Pawnee until the wind > kicked up. > >- Sage Thrasher (CR 41 btw 100/102 - (3); CR 49 north of 100 - (4)) >- Loggerhead Shrike (CR 41 btw 100/102) >- Vesper Sparrow CR 49 north of 100 (3) >- Burrowing Owl CR 59/74 (1) >- Osprey O Street gravel pit in Greeley, behind the jail (2 on nest) >- Black-crowned Night Heron (2), Cattle Egret at Glenmere Park >- Mute Swan F street gravel pit in Greeley >- Western Grebe on 3t5th Ave west gravel pit (6) > > Photos tomorrow. > > Thanks, Gary Lefko, Nunn > https://www.friendsofthepawneegrassland.org/ > > https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/birds-and-more-of-the-pawnee-national-grassland > -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group. [cobirds] Re: More Spring Arrivals/Weld
Hi all COBIRDs RBA Alert has a comment under Weld County now (thanks, Joe R.) not to go in Crow Valley. I checked with District Monday and was told closed until further notice. If something changes I'll let you Joe R. know. A very nice Forest Service officer (I think, I didn't note the logo) told me I shouldn't be in there, and that he was choosing not to write me a ticket, on Sunday. I don't recommend walking into the Crow Valley Campground until the signs aren't posted on the gate. I was also curious about whether we could walk into Crow Valley or not.
