I probably should have identified the waterthrush as Waterthrush sp.,
because I did not see the leg color to rule out Louisiana Waterthrush
(bright pink).  There are other subtle differences between the species, but
I did not see it long enough to consider them.

The brown streaking on the birds upper breast was dense and bold, more
similar to that of the Northern Waterthrush.

The Northern Waterthrush is much more likely to be seen here, but you never
know!
