Director of Library Repository Services and Technology Arizona State University Tempe Under the direction of the Associate University Librarian & Chief Technology Office, responsible for the design, development, and management of library repository services and technologies. Oversees the implementation of platforms, processes, services, and systems for scholarly, research, archival, and other related repository functions. • Responsible for executing strategy related to repository services and technologies including the design and correct implementation of systems and workflows. • Analyzes requirements and develops work plans and time schedules including outlining phases, personnel, and other resource requirements; monitors workload and progress and adjusts schedule and plan as necessary. • Coordinates with the Digital Projects Librarian and Discovery Services teams to solve complex procedural, operational, and technical issues related to repository platform and service objectives. • Leads activities with technology staff to provide resources and technology solutions to address issues relating to hardware infrastructure, middleware, and other technology-based systems/platforms. • Participates with library administrators and managers in planning, directing and coordinating personnel to meet goals and objectives. • Evaluates software products, frameworks, and libraries to determine their applicability to repository and related projects. • Completes or contributes to various reports and summaries to management, grant-makers, and/or other constituents including status reports and progress summaries. • Assures that appropriate levels of technical and related support are available to both expert users and consumers of services. • Participates in the development of data format and metadata standards for repository, data management, and other services. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND five (5) years' of systems and/or programming experience which includes three (3) years' experience managing technology projects involving academic or other comparable information services infrastructure; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Chair, Libraries Information Technology University of Florida Gainesville The George A. Smathers Libraries, University of Florida, seeks applications and nominations for the position of Chair of the Libraries Information Technology (IT Chair) department is a tenure track library faculty position responsible for leading a service oriented department of approximately 20 staff members that research, develop, optimize and support advanced information systems and technology for the Smathers Libraries. The IT Chair leads the Libraries' internal IT department, a service hub providing an array of services and support, including technical expertise for evaluating external service providers, application development, project management, risk management, and administration supporting collaborative and collegial ways of working across the Libraries to optimally deliver on program and project needs with minimal overhead. The IT Chair clearly establishes and communicates the vision and strategic directions of the department and partners with campus organizations to ensure library goals and objectives are met. This position is a member of the administrative leadership team, providing vision and strategic planning to the Smathers Libraries as a whole, ensuring that resources, both human and capital, are appropriately managed to achieve stated goals and objectives. To support all students and faculty and foster excellence in a diverse and global society, the IT Chair will be expected to include individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, races, ethnicities, genders, and perspectives in work activities. The IT Chair will pursue professional development opportunities, stay abreast of advances in the field of information technology, perform scholarly research, and provide service at the institutional and professional levels as related to assignment, and in accordance with the Libraries' tenure and promotion criteria.
