Re: [CODE4LIB] Code4Lib Gender Survey

2012-11-27 Thread Federowicz, Yvonne Marie
There are other interesting things that could be done with a survey... one
could ask Ross & Warren's questions in addition to the simpler "in
community"/"not in community".

Do women attend events and/or lurk on the list, but also not view
themselves as a member of the community, more than men do?

Deciding how to change the dynamics could be helped by answers to questions
like this.

I believe several people from Brown would go.

It wants you to use Solr power.

[CODE4LIB] Website: Techsoup for Libraries

2009-05-29 Thread Federowicz, Yvonne Marie
I've recently come across a resource that has some overlap with
Code4lib. Some members here might find it interesting and/or wish to
participate. I saw no mention of Techsoup in our archives, so I'm
passing it along.

Techsoup for Libraries is a project of Techsoup, a more general
nonprofit technology organization.

http://www.maintainitproject.org/ (libraries)

http://techsoup.org/ (general)

There appear to be members with widely varying levels of technological
background, with the goal of assisting their nonprofit missions.
