[CODE4LIB] York Digital Library ITT - Digital Library development opportunities

Dear all,

York Digital Library, in partnership with the Borthwick Institute for 
Archives, have three individual work items available for tender. Members 
of this list may be interested in one or more of the items, which are:


1) Implementation of the University of York Archives Hub Spoke and 
archival stylesheet development


2) Re-usable EAD generation and conversion (from spreadsheets)

3) Implementing page turning and sequencing within a Fedora Commons 
repository


These are outlined in more detail in the following ITT. There is 
flexibility in how the work is approached and we would be happy to 
receive tenders which address more than one item or suggest new 
approaches. The work does not need to be completed on site, so 
colleagues in other countries are welcome to respond. Please get in 
touch if you would like more information.

The University of York Library  Archives is looking for an enthusiastic
developer to join the Digital Library team to contribute to an
interactive research portal for the Department of History of Art. The
post offers an opportunity to work closely with colleagues to develop
and deliver an innovative new research portal and to contribute to the
AHRC-funded Court, Country, City Project.

Supporting our vision of open standards and open data mean this post
will suit someone with experience and enthusiasm in linked data and the
semantic web movement. Experience and working knowledge of web and
semantic web standards and related protocols, plus client- and
server-side programming are essential. We are looking for a talented
programmer with a customer-focussed approach who can take user
requirements and develop creative technical solutions.

The post is fixed-term for 12 months.

Salary within the range: £28,983 - £35,646

[CODE4LIB] DC-2010 Call for Papers

Accepted posters will be published in the Conference Proceedings and 
displayed at the conference. Unless otherwise arranged, accepted posters 
must be presented in Pittsburgh by at least one of their authors. 
However, with prior arrangement, posters may be included in the 
proceedings and presented by means of video ranging from 4-10 minutes in 
length and uploaded to YouTube with the link supplied at the time the 
poster is submitted. Asynchronous mechanisms for participant/author 
communications will be provided.
