[CODE4LIB] Question about C4L 2011 in Bloomington
Do any of the organizers of the C4L conference in Bloomington back in Februry know what company made the pads of paper you handed out at registration? We like the format and might like to order some for ourselves. I can send a scan if someone wants to see what I am talking about. -- Tania Fersenheim Manager of Library Systems Brandeis University Library and Technology Services 415 South Street, (MS 017/P.O. [CODE4LIB] Code4Lib 2010 - T-shirts on Cafe Press?
There was some talk of offering the Code4Lib 2010 t-shirt candidates on Cafe Press. Was there any decision made on that? I found Dan Chudnov's design there: http://t-shirts.cafepress.com/code4lib Will any others be making their way onto Cafe Press? Re: [CODE4LIB] Code4Lib 2011 Proposals
Born raised in Ithaca, went to college there (Go Big Red!) and I love it there. BUT I have to agree that February in Ithaca can be dreary. They have a decent restaurant and pub scene but one of the key attractions for Ithaca is the outdoor activities. Though we could do a wine tour! And visit Wegmans. And eat good bagels. And half moon cookies. And drink Ithaca beers. I've changed my mind - I'm all over Ithaca for C4L11. I have some very strong opinions on venue though. :-) Tania -- Tania Fersenheim Manager of Library Systems Brandeis University Library and Technology Services 415 South Street, (MS 017/P.O. I emailed them a few questions awhile ago at he...@monkpub.com and they answered within a few hours, from the address ba...@monkpub.com. They seem to have a decent non-Belgian tap list as well. It's a half-mile from the conference hotel, so it's easily walkable/stumbleable. 1. http://www.yelp.com/biz/thirsty-monk-pub-asheville The Yelp entry has their address being 50 Commerce St, Asheville, NC 28801. However their website (http://www.monkpub.com/) has them at 92 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28801 (which is even closer to the conference hotel). Google maps now has Hookah Joe's at the 50 Commerce St address, so perhaps the Thirsty Monk has moved. They are not answering their phone (828-254-5470) this early, but I will try them later on to get clarification. I hope to run into some of you folks there. If you're into Belgian beer and a different pub atmosphere, do join me. Belgian beer is my favorite, so I plan on going (even if you are going to be there -- just teasing!). I didn't notice any Atomium on draft, though (previewing the beer menu is how I happened to notice the address discrepancy). -- Michael # Michael Doran, Systems Librarian # University of Texas at Arlington # 817-272-5326 office # 817-688-1926 mobile # do...@uta.edu # http://rocky.uta.edu/doran/ -Original Message- From: Code for Libraries [mailto:code4...@listserv.nd.edu] On Behalf Of Michael J. Re: [CODE4LIB] Code4Lib Van service to and from the Asheville Airport
Do we also need to fill out any info on the Rideshare page? -- Tania Fersenheim Manager of Library Systems Brandeis University Library and Technology Services 415 South Street, (MS 017/P.O. Box 549110) Waltham, MA 02454-9110 Phone: 781.736.4698 Fax: 781.736.4577 email: tan...@brandeis.edu -Original Message- From: Code for Libraries [mailto:code4...@listserv.nd.edu] On Behalf Of Jill Ellern Sent: Thursday, February 11, 2010 1:29 PM To: CODE4LIB@LISTSERV.ND.EDU Subject: [CODE4LIB] Code4Lib Van service to and from the Asheville Airport Code4Lib conference attendees: Since the price of taxi service from the airport is pretty steep (I've heard $40 taxi ride one way), the WCU and ASU libraries are looking at ways to help. We are planning to provide a limited van shuttle service for the Code4Lib conference coming and going to the Asheville airport. (We need a good name...perhaps the Air2Hot Van) We now have access to two minivans that can hold maximum of 6 passengers with their bags per trip. A Asheville Airport to Hotel Van Manifest has been drafted for the van loads based on flight information provided by attendees on the Rideshare wiki. Check out http://wiki.code4lib.org/index.php/Asheville_Airport_to_Hotel_ Van_Manifest to see what we have created. In addition, we are requesting that passengers wanting to use this service provide us with their email and cell phone information so we can contact you directly. Please send this information to ksclarke+c4lr...@gmail.commailto:ksclarke+c4lr...@gmail.com to confirm your spot. We will update the confirmed column in the table so you know we have received it. We only have a limited space on these two vans so make sure your information is correct. Please check both your flight arrival and departure times. We hope to provide a ride for everyone to/from the airport that needs it but only for Sunday-Friday. We suspect that there might be many more attendees needing rides during this period then have currently signed up for on the wiki. We will attempt to accommodate all those that have signed up but we only have the two vans and it's an hour and a half roundtrip to the hotel. Priority will be given to those how have already signed up right now. We will do our best with anyone who adds their info after this message is sent out. First check out the table to see what spots we have left in the current load runs. If the van is filled or doesn't currently run during your needed time slot, please add your information to the bottom of the rideshare page http://wiki.code4lib.org/index.php/C4L2010rideshare . We will look to see if we can accommodate your requests in our schedule. Please don't add loads to the manifest document yourself. We will monitor the rideshare list and add runs as we are able. Email me directly if you have any questions. We are working with the Guest Services and Ground Transportation Desk at the Asheville Airport baggage claim area to coordinating the pickup location for our vans. More information about this will be forthcoming directly to your provided email and cell phone info. Looking forwards to seeing you all in person. Feedback is welcome.
