[CODE4LIB] CODE4LIB Conference Lodging
It appears that the Renaissance Seattle has no rooms available Feb 5-9 2012, using the link from the conference registration page. One can go directly to the hotel web site and make a reservation at a higher rate, however. Any recs for nearby lodging at comparable rates? Laura -- Laura J. I am working with the hotel now. There WILL be rooms. I'm not sure what the glitch is, but I am working on it now. - E Elizabeth Duell Orbis Cascade Alliance edu...@uoregon.edu (541) 346-1883 On 11/16/2011 8:43 AM, Laura Smart wrote: It appears that the Renaissance Seattle has no rooms available Feb 5-9 2012, using the link from the conference registration page. Re: [CODE4LIB] CODE4LIB Conference Lodging
Laura, Before I registered at the Renaissance, I'd been looking at the Hilton Garden Inn, which is 2-3 blocks away and had reasonable rates. There was one other hotel nearby with good rates, but I don't remember the name. --Joel Joel Richard IT Specialist, Web Services Department Smithsonian Institution Libraries | http://www.sil.si.edu/ (202) 633-1706 | (202) 786-2861 (f) | richar...@si.edu From: Code for Libraries [CODE4LIB@LISTSERV.ND.EDU] On Behalf Of Laura Smart [laura.j.sm...@gmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 16, 2011 11:43 AM To: CODE4LIB@LISTSERV.ND.EDU Subject: [CODE4LIB] CODE4LIB Conference Lodging It appears that the Renaissance Seattle has no rooms available Feb 5-9 2012, using the link from the conference registration page. The City Hostel http://www.cityhostelseattle.com/ looks pretty interesting and not too far away for the more adventurous or budgetarily challenged. -Derek On Wed, Nov 16, 2011 at 11:49 AM, Elizabeth Duell edu...@uoregon.edu wrote: I am working with the hotel now. Hi all, If you're not already familiar with walkscore.com I highly recommend looking at it. You can find various amenities [coffee/ book? bars?] near the conference hotel and if you go to the More Amenities page, you can add hotels as an amenity and get a good overview of the hotels in the area and their relative location to the conference hotel. Enjoy! Also, FYI, there are three Kimpton hotels nearby with reasonable rates. -Mike On Wed, Nov 16, 2011 at 12:17, Ann Lally ala...@uw.edu wrote: Hi all, If you're not already familiar with walkscore.com I highly recommend looking at it. Re: [CODE4LIB] CODE4LIB Conference Lodging
Not to belabor the point, but having people stay at the Conference Venue is part of the reason why we are getting the prices that allow us to keep the registration fees low. PLEASE give us some time to work this out. It is important to have guest rooms filled at the Conference Venue. - E Elizabeth Duell Orbis Cascade Alliance edu...@uoregon.edu (541) 346-1883 On 11/16/2011 9:17 AM, Ann Lally wrote: Hi all, If you're not already familiar with walkscore.com I highly recommend looking at it. Re: [CODE4LIB] CODE4LIB Conference Lodging
Nice link Ann, thanks for forwarding. If anyone wants to go the hostel route, the Green Tortoise Seattle is closer than City Hostel. http://www.greentortoise.net/ I have stayed there twice in a private room and both times it was an amazing experience. Met lots of cool people and saw interesting parts of Seattle with them that I wouldn't have otherwise visited. If you've ever stayed at Green Tortoise San Francisco, rest assured the Seattle location is much much more clean modern. Laura On Wed, Nov 16, 2011 at 9:21 AM, Michael J. Not to rush you, but any updates on this? Renaissance site still shows no rooms available. Re: [CODE4LIB] CODE4LIB Conference Lodging
We are getting a different link for this site. I will be getting that link and sending it out in the near future. (11 am Pacific) Please be patient... I think we traumatized their reservation site. - E Elizabeth Duell Orbis Cascade Alliance edu...@uoregon.edu (541) 346-1883 On 11/16/2011 10:49 AM, Sean C Purcell wrote: Not to rush you, but any updates on this?
