[CODE4LIB] CODE4LIB Conference Lodging

2011-11-16 Thread Laura Smart
It appears that the Renaissance Seattle has no rooms available Feb 5-9
2012, using the link from the conference registration page. One can
go directly to the hotel web site and make a reservation at a higher
rate, however.
Any recs for nearby lodging at comparable rates?

I am working with the hotel now. There WILL be rooms. I'm not
sure what the glitch is, but I am working on it now.

Laura,

Before I registered at the Renaissance, I'd been looking at the Hilton Garden
Inn, which is 2-3 blocks away and had reasonable rates. There was one other
hotel nearby with good rates, but I don't remember the name.

Hi all,
If you're not already familiar with walkscore.com I highly recommend
looking at it. You can find various amenities [coffee/ book? bars?] near
the conference hotel and if you go to the More Amenities page, you can add
hotels as an amenity and get a good overview of the hotels in the area
and their relative location to the conference hotel.

Enjoy!

Not to belabor the point, but having people stay at the
Conference Venue is part of the reason why we are getting the
prices that allow us to keep the registration fees low.

PLEASE give us some time to work this out. It is important to
have guest rooms filled at the Conference Venue.

Nice link Ann, thanks for forwarding.

If anyone wants to go the hostel route, the Green Tortoise Seattle is
closer than City Hostel. http://www.greentortoise.net/

I have stayed there twice in a private room and both times it was an
amazing experience. Met lots of cool people and saw interesting parts
of Seattle with them that I wouldn't have otherwise visited. If
you've ever stayed at Green Tortoise San Francisco, rest assured the
Seattle location is much much more clean modern.
