This 2-day workshop will cover a tools and skills that will help participants learn how to refine and clean up large volumes of data (OpenRefine); introduce automation and queries into workflows through programming (Regular Expressions, XQuery / XML); integrate software (APIs with Python); and perform web scraping with Scrapy (Python). While you do not need to have any previous knowledge of the tools presented at the workshop, we recommend that attendees have some exposure / familiarity with the following concepts: programming logic, boolean expressions, XML. Lunch and snacks during the breaks will be provided.
