Clemons commented on NETBEANS-2537: -- So no real progress last evening. Previously, when I tried to expand the "Procedures" folders after connecting to a MySQL 8.0 database, the console error-message complained that it couldn't find the "mysql.procs" table. So last night, I installed the MySQL 8 JDBC connector and verified that its .JAR file was added to my $PATH variable. I still can't expand the "Procedures" folder, but there's an additional problem in that I'm no longer able to edit the database URL in Netbeans. That matters because MySQL 8's default authentication wants SSL, and I have to add "=false" to the end of the URL to use plain username/password authentication. So I'm not sure how to proceed from here. > SQL Editor loses MySQL/MariaDB comments > --- > > Key: NETBEANS-2537 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-2537 > Project: NetBeans > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: db - SQL Editor >Affects Versions: 8.2 > Environment: Debian 9 (Stretch), 64-bit. >Reporter: D. Now, with the detailed description, it is more clear now. Thx. Does this only happens for yaml files? This is defnitely a bug, not an improvement, what you want to improve? Not all filenames, that are to long are stripped down. As you can see a lot of files, some has less characters are stripped too. So this is a bug, not an improvement. It is not about calling it because of making it more sense, it is because it is a bug. There is nothing to improve, there could be a problem (bug) inside of some things, that draws/shows the labels of the files. was (Author: chrizzly): I had a look at your screenshot, but I couldn't get it. The issue is that file names are not completely displayed. For example, the file doctrine_migrations.yaml is displayed as doctrine_migrations.yam. The file sensio_framework_extra.yaml is displayed as sensio_framework_extra.yar. It's as if a file name that should take N pixels to display is shown in less than N pixels. The effect does not appear to be consistent. If it makes more sense to call it a bug, then we can do that.
